Prior to installtion, verify setter dimensions are suitable for meter threads and laying length. Two gaskets and two meter support brackets are furnished with each meter setter for new meter connections. DO NOT use Vaseline ®, plumber's grease, or any other petroleum based product on seals or o-rings. Brace pipe eyelets to fit 1" pipe size pipe are standard with all setters. Meter setter assembly should be supported by some means other than just the water line. Optional by-pass is available inline (low) or 8 1/2" below meter centerline (high), or 8 1/2" below and 6 1/2"offset from meter centerline (high offset). By-pass is available in 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" tube size. Unless otherwise specified, a 2" meter setter is furnished with 17 3/8" spacing between the meter flanges and a 1 1/2" meter setter is furnished with 13 3/8" spacing between the meter flanges. A 2" meter setter is furnished with meter flanges drilled to fit either a 1 1/2" or 2" meter. Any 2" meter setter can be adjusted to a shorter meter length by loosening pack nut(s) and cutting copper cross tube(s).i.e. to convert from a standard 2" meter to a standard 1 1/2" meter, cut 4" off cross tube(s). Order A.Y. McDonald 20A76 adapter kit to convert bottom inlet and outlet connections from 2" FIP to 1 1/2" FIP. Two bushings are provided with each kit, thread sealant should be used.
