         The Adult Fashion Show will be held with the 4-H Fashion Show as follows:

Fashion Show Judging Schedule: Allen County Extension Office
                               Thursday, July 7, 2011
                               Registration: 4:00 p.m.
                               Judging: 4:30 p.m.

Public Fashion Show:          Allen County Fairgrounds
                              Saturday, July 16, 7:00 p.m.
                              Consumer Clothing, Allen County Adults,
                                     4-H Juniors, and 4-H Seniors

Divisions:
Non-Professional: No age requirement and receives less than
$1,200 a year for monetary compensation.
Professional: One who has actively engaged in the last 5 years
(receiving any monetary compensation in excess of $1,200 per year)
in any phase of clothing, clothing construction, judging, modeling,
fabric sales, teaching or has a degree in clothing and textiles.

Classes - Winners in the following categories may
compete at State Fair:
A. Family Outfits - Person wearing outfit he/she has made, plus any other individuals wearing garments
   sewn for them with a coordinated or themed look.

B. Dresses - (1 person modeling only). One or two piece dress, a dress with its own jacket, coat, or vest.
   Also includes jumper and blouse.

C. Coats or Suits - (1 person modeling only). Separate coat for your wardrobe, to be judged solely as a
   coat with its own accessories. Suits being two or more pieces (i.e. skirt or pants with jacket, cape, or
   vest of the same fabric shown with or without its own blouse or shirt). Jacket, coat, cape, or vest must be
   lined.

D. Separates - (1 person modeling only). True coordinates. May be 2, 3 or more garments selected and
   modeled together for a complete look. All garments must be worn. Each piece should be important
   enough to stand on its own with other garments. Accessory items such as sweater, blouse, or shirt may
   be a purchased garment.
E. My Choice - (1 person modeling only). Active-wear (i.e. tennis-wear, swim-wear), western, lounge-wear
   or costumes (such as historic, dance, international or Halloween), which do not fit in the above classes. No
   bridal gowns - see class “J”.

F. Sewing for Others/Child’s Garments - (Limit 1 child). Any type of child's garment. Seamstress must be
   present. Birth to age 5.

G. Sewing for Others/Children's Garments - (Limit 1 child). Any type of child's garment. Seamstress must
   be present. Ages 6 to 12.

H. Sewing for Others/Teen Garments - (Limit 1 teen). Any type of teen's garment. Seamstress must be pre-
   sent. Teen ages 13 - 17.

I. Sewing for Others/Adults over 18 - (Limit 1 adult). Any type of garment. Seamstress must be present.

J. Wedding Gowns - (1 person modeling only). Seamstress must be present at the judging and fashion show.

K. Bridesmaids or Formal Dresses – (1 person modeling only). Seamstress must be present at the judging
   and fashion show.

L. Embellished with Hand or Machine Embroidery – (1 person modeling only). Any garment that has
   been embellished by hand or machine embroidery.

Rules:
1. Membership in an Extension Homemaker club is not required.

2. Garments modeled must have been made by the entrant after September 1, 2010.

3. The contest has two divisions; non-professional and professional.

4. WEDDING GOWN, TEEN’S GARMENT, CHILD’S GARMENT & ADULT’S GARMENT classes. If
   the wedding gown has been made by someone else other than the bride, the seamstress must be present for
   official judging and the public fashion show presentation. The award will be given to the seamstress.
   Same rule applies in child’s garment, teen’s garment, and adult’s garment when Sewing for Others.

5. Contestants may enter as many classes as desired at the county level and at the state level.

6. Seamstress must be a resident of INDIANA.

7. Both pattern and fabric are to be different from year to year. Garments will be judged on the contestant.

8. Garments to be worn in the State Fair Showcase of Fashions can be exhibited for construction in the Elli-
   son Bakery Home & Family Arts Building.

9. Participation in the public presentation is required and seamstress (entrant) must be present to receive
   award.

  NOTE: Judging at State Fair will be Sunday, August 14 in the Ellison Bakery Home & Family Arts
          Building. Public Fashion Show is at 2:00 pm on the Ellison Bakery main stage.
         There is a $20.00 entry fee; each entrant will receive 4-one day passes to the fair.

                   “Make It Yourself With Wool” Contest
        Home & Family Arts Building - Indiana State Fairgrounds - August 20, 2011

Purpose of the Contest:
- To promote the beauty and versatility of wool fabrics and yarns.
- To encourage personal creativity in sewing, knitting, and crocheting with wool fabrics and yarns.
- To recognize creative skills.

Categories - Determined by your age as of December 31, 2010:
* Pre-teen (12 & under) - Jumpers, skirts, dresses, pants, vests, sweaters, jackets, or shirts.

* Junior (13 through 16) - Two piece outfit (coat, jacket, blouse/shirt, vest or sweater with dress,
    skirt, pants or shorts). Dress or jumper, ensemble (3 or more garments worn together at one time -
    coat, jacket, blouse/shirt, vest, +/or sweater with dress, skirt, pants, or shorts).

* Senior (17 through 24) - Two piece outfit (coat, jacket, blouse/shirt, vest or sweater with dress,
    skirt, pants or shorts). Dress or jumper, ensemble (3 or more garments worn together at one time -
    coat, jacket, blouse/shirt, vest, +/or sweater with dress, skirt, pants, or shorts).

* Adult (Over 24) - Two piece outfit (coat, jacket, blouse/shirt, vest or sweater with dress, skirt, pants
   or shorts). Dress or jumper, ensemble (3 or more garments worn together at one time - coat,
   jacket, blouse/shirt, vest, +/or sweater with dress, skirt, pants, or shorts).

All entries must be made from loomed, knitted or felted fabric, or yarn of minimum 60% wool.
