case of non availability of PH candidates, the seats will be filled up from the respective category.

2.1 Eligibility for M.Tech. Programs
The applicant must have a Bachelor degree in Engineering/Technology/AMIE in appropriate
discipline or a Master degree in appropriate discipline with CGPI of 6.75 on 10-point scale or
equivalent or 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded. There will be a
relaxation of 5% marks (or equivalent CGPI) for SC/ST/PH candidates in the minimum marks
          required in the qualifying examination.

2.2 Admission Procedure
          (a) The admission to M.Tech. programs will be based on the valid GATE score of the qualified
candidates in appropriate discipline/branch. In the event of seats remaining vacant, the
department may decide to fill up the left out seats by non-GATE candidates through an
entrance test. In this case, the admission shall be made on the basis of merit in the
entrance test followed by the interview.
          (b) Ties in GATE score shall be resolved on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying
              examinations.
          (c) Preference may be given to the candidates who have already cleared the qualifying
examination. However, the candidates appearing in the final examination of their
bachelor program in 2011 can also apply, and if selected, will be admitted provisionally.
Such candidates are required to submit the record of CGPI/marks obtained till date. The
candidates who are awarded percentage scores shall submit the percentage of marks
obtained for all the semesters/years (averaged over all the semesters/years) for which
the result is available. Admissions in all such cases will be made purely on provisional basis
and the admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a
certificate of having passed the bachelor degree/equivalent qualification with at least
60% marks or 6.75 CGPI (on ten point scale). They must submit proof of passing their final
examinations with requisite marks/grade by 15/09/2011. Non-fulfillment of this condition
will automatically result in the cancellation of their provisional admission and their fee
              shall be forfeited.
          (d) The applicants shall apply for admission on the prescribed forms which can be
downloaded from Institute website. The duly completed application must reach the
office of Dean (Academic) latest by 13/06/2011 upto 5.00PM. The applications shall be
