Security Incident Reports - Glossary of Terms

Crime Against Person:

The incident reports that are categorized in this indicator are assaults (simple, creating fear, verbal).

Crime Against Property:

The incident reports that are categorized in this indicator are malicious mischief, vandalism, trespassing, bomb threat, burglary, larceny (petty/grand). The incident reports that are categorized in this indicator are students/employees found in possession of knives, guns (BB or firearm); items classified in the handbook as contraband (BBs’, bullets, matches, lighters, etc.) The incident reports that are categorized in this indicator are students/employees found in possession of drugs (marijuana, cocaine, controlled substance (without valid prescriptions, etc.)). The incident reports that are categorized in this indicator are after hours unarmed alarms, unlocked doors and/or unsecured by alarm, open windows, etc. The incident reports that are categorized in this indicator are students/employees arguing, fighting with no serious injuries, insubordinate behavior, etc.

Motor Vehicle Accidents:

The incident reports that are categorized in this indicator are incident reports that do not have a significant number of occurrence, i.e. runaway/missing children from school sites, indecent exposure on or near district property, arson, abandoned vehicles, medical emergencies, etc.
