Cody McLeod:
On the play of Chad Johnson...: “I think we could’ve done a better job of getting bodies in front. Got to
give him credit, he played a great game.”
On the game…:“Maybe we didn’t do a few things we wanted to do, Gaborik had a great game. They came
out and they were hungry, they were more desperate.”
On his goal…:“Tucker’s line had a great shift before us. We were down in their end creating lots of havoc
down there, we were doing the same thing and just got the puck to the net.”
Paul Stastny:
On the first line struggling lately…: “I think we need to score, when our line is doing well it helps our team
do a lot better. When our line is not scoring it makes it a lot tougher for our team to get a win. You saw that
in Dallas when the other lines played well and we didn’t get one we got the loss. We can’t get frustrated we
just have to simplify the game and just go from there. Sometimes you just need one of those goals to get
going and right now we’re battling to get one. The whole team is. We just need to keep our confidence and
stay positive.”
Chad Johnson:
On the win…: “They came with a lot of speed. We had a good game plan going in. We knew they were
going to come with a lot of speed and I needed to be aware of that. Make sure I was at the top of my crease
and aware of where guys were on the ice. We played hard and competed for the whole 60 minutes and that
kind of made a difference. We had that jump and swagger I think tonight. We were going to go into the
game on a mission to get a win and we did it.”
On his first career win...: “It’s pretty exciting. I’ve played three games before, you want to get that first one
so you know you can win at this level. It’s such a relief and obviously I’ll remember this, and now I need to
move on and work on getting number two.”

Marian Gaborik:
On scoring the first goal…: “It definitely changed the play. You feel better playing with the lead. We
haven’t gotten a lead in so many games so I think when you get a lead and get that first goal you feel more
comfortable and more confident. So it was a huge moment.”
On ending their fivegame losing streak…: “You need to adjust to every game like you want to win. I think
we played a good two periods in Phoenix and we talked about how to carry it over to this game. I think we
have to keep energy and I think we did that the whole game.”
On the game…: “At times we were struggling in our own end but we have to get better at that. Overall I
think we played a very good game. Most importantly we got two points.”
