                         CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1   Spring Arts 2006 officially opens on Friday 27th October and runs till Tuesday 7th November.
2   Work must be ready for the opening no earlier than Wednesday 25th October or by arrangement with ACM.
3   Works must be the original work of the artist, completed within the past year, not previously exhibited in the
    Mansfield district area. All artists must have a connection with the Mansfield community or district.

4   VISUAL ARTS OPEN SECTION: Any subject and media. Works must be ready to hang and able to be self
    supporting in the case of sculpture or ceramics. The Exhibition Venues in this section will decide which artists
    exhibit at their venue.

5   BOTTOM LINE: Sculptural/3D exhibition/competition. Create a 3D human bottom from media of your choice ie.
    ceramic, resin, plaster etc and develop your artwork style on the piece. Must be able to fit within a cubic space
    of 45cm and able to be self supporting. Names on work to be covered.

6   BEJEWEL: Jewellery exhibition and performance.
    Each exhibitor will have an equal area in which to mount their pieces for sale or POA, for the duration of Spring
    Arts.
    Each exhibitor will have one identically costumed model (provided by Spring Arts) to ‘bejewel’ on opening night.
    Exhibitors are encouraged to make these performance pieces as extravagant, fantastic and ‘out there’ as possible.
    These works will be displayed separately after Opening Night for the duration of Spring Arts.

7   MEDIAN TO RARE: Sculpture Exhibition/competition. $5.00 per sculpture for all entrants.
    Exhibits must be suitable for outdoors. Closing date for entries Friday 27th October, 2006. Exhibition is for one day
    only. All artworks must be installed and removed by the artist on the day. Installation by 9am, removal between
    4pm - 5pm Saturday 4th November, 2006. Judging will be held by Public Ballot, and no discussion will be entered
    into. Winners announced at the exhibition between 3:30 and 4pm on the day. The site for this unique event is the
    Median Strip between the Post Office and Mingo’s, first in, best spot! All care will be taken by the supervising
    committee at all times to ensure the public a comfortable and creative experience. The Arts Council of Mansfield
    and the supervising committee will not accept responsibility for accidental defacing or breakage of any installation
    or any personal accident that may occur. The artist must take sole responsibility for their exhibits throughout the
    entire duration of the exhibition. For further information please telephone Anne Walters 5779 1661.

8   TRUE BLUE: This exhibition acknowledges the spirit of the Mansfield community, the groups that define our
    community and all the organisations that welcome community participation eg. CFA, CWA, sporting clubs etc.
    Art works can be any subject and any media. Work must be predominantly in the colour ‘blue’. Work must be
    ready to hang. All work must be for sale.

9   SMALL SENSATIONS: Two pieces of artwork to fit within the frames provided. Frames to be purchased from
    ACM. All work must be for sale. For frame purchases or other enquiries contact Lyn Cole 0407 093 410.

10 The Committee is not bound to exhibit any entry or artwork.
11 The committee reserves the right to withdraw or reclassify entries not complying with the section entered.
12 All entry forms to be addressed to ARTS COUNCIL OF MANSFIELD, 23 CAMBRIDGE DRIVE, MANSFIELD, 3722.
   Commission will be charged on all works sold at the rate of 20%.
13 The ACM nor any VENUE or EXHIBITION SPACE will not be responsible for the loss of, damage or breakage, of
   any art work, nor the insurance of exhibits in transit or on exhibition.
14 No work shall be hung/placed in situ at a venue without the supervision of a Hanging Supervisor who is an official
   volunteer of the Arts Council of Mansfield for this purpose.
15 Artist Public Liability Insurance: It is recommended that artists have their own PLI because in the event of a claim
   against a fault caused by the artist, the artist may be liable.
16 The decision of judged exhibitions shall be final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding such
   decisions.
17 Reproduction and Artist Statement: Artists shall allow their work to be photographed without fee, while on display,
   for media/advertising purposes. The Artist Statement may be used for media/advertising purposes.
18 Entry Fees: See entry fee for each section in the Art Entry Form (page 1 of 2, which accompanies this page).

19 No artwork that is to be hung shall be larger than 1.22 metres high by 0.915m (4'X3') including frame, unless by
   arrangement with ACM and venue owner. Each art piece to show name address, phone no., title of work, medium,
   and price on the back of work.
20 No exhibit shall be removed, before the closure of the Exhibition unless by consultation with ACM.
21 Exhibiting venues will be given the choice of which artists they would prefer to have in their venue, but the final
   decision will be at the discretion of ACM.
