All applications MUST be forwarded to: Citrus County Education Foundation, lnc. Scholarship Application Review Committee 1007 West Main Street Inverness, FL 34450 4. All applications, essays, transcripts and letters of recommendation MUST be received no later than April 19, 2011. 5. The recipient of the award will be announced at the Lecanto High School Academic Awards Program. 6. The monetary award will be forwarded to the selected post secondary institution upon receipt of documentation from the school in which the recipient is enrolled. Citrus Hills Civic Association $1000 Frank Russo Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria: 1. Applicant must be a resident of the Villages of Citrus Hills. 2. Applicant must be a graduating senior student. 3. Grades: Applicants should have taken academically rigorous courses, and must have earned at least a 2.75 GPA. A transcript for the applicant must be submitted. The transcript must include current GPA and SAT/ACT scores. 4. Leadership Activities: Applicant must provide supporting facts to demonstrate leadership in extra curricular activities. 5. Community Involvement: List all contributions to the community and/or work and/or volunteer experience. Supporting substantiation of involvement in community activities to document applicant's leadership skills must be provided. 6. References: Two (2) letters of reference are required. References may come from a teacher, advisor, guidance counselor, school administrator, employer, clergy, a person with whom the applicant has done volunteer or community work, or any other adult who is aware of the applicant's leadership skills. 7. Essay (300 words or less): Each applicant must write an essay explaining (1) why they are seeking financial aid, (2) why they want to attend college, and (3) their goals for the future.
