World History 9 Ms. Lewis FINAL EXAM REVIEW SHEET: Period 2 Spring 2009 Exam Schedule Date: Time: Length: Exam Format The format of the test will be 25 multiple choice questions and 2 essays. June 16, 2009 9:30AM - 11:30AM Two hours Section 1: 20 Multiple Choice Questions (25 points) About half of the multiple choice questions will address material since the last exam – including material we have covered in class. The other half will address important people, events, and issues that we have seen during the second semester. Section 2: Thematic Essay – Choose 1 out of 2 (45 points) This essay will require you to write on a theme we have traced throughout the semester such as:  cultural diffusion  the effects of trade and war on a society  the relationship between religious and economic events  the role of inventions and science in human development (including warfare)  why empires/civilizations rise and fall  how disease shapes a society’s politics, economics and religious beliefs You may be asked to compare and contrast two different civilizations, rulers, systems of government or empires. You will also be asked to trace cause and effect. Section 3: DBQ Essay – One only (30 points) The essay will require you to write on a theme we have addressed since our last exam. Possible topics include: (1) The Scientific Revolution (2) The Wars of Religion (3) The Enlightenment’s effects on Europe and the New World (4) Roles and struggles of women from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment Additional study aid: Go to http://www.yuhsb.org/academics_history_department.htm Then scroll down to Ms. Lewis’s bocks and click under 9 grade on the Review Sheets for Exams 4-6 1 th Questions?
