EES PTA Home of the Eagles…Soaring to great heights thru learning Pta newsletter #10 THANKS FOR COMING: SPIRIT NIGHT – Our Spirit Night at Chuck E Cheese raised $485 in sales for our PTA. Our next event is May 11th at Rita’s Italian Ice until 10pm Please contact Jenn Kindley with questions at firstname.lastname@example.org BASKET AND BAGS BINGO – Many thanks to Lana Ophardt and team for a great job. Please see a note from Lana below: Emmorton’s 13th Annual Bingo Fundraiser was held on 3/11/11 and was a huge success! This year, in addition to Longaberger® Baskets, we added Vera Bradley Bags for bingo prizes. The gymnasium was full at this sold-out event, unfortunately having to turn people away at the door! Our net profit from this fundraiser was approximately $14,500! Vera Bradley Bags weren’t the only new addition! We also add a computerized flashboard and verifier, a Raffle Table with incredible prizes (including 4 passes to Disney!) and popular refreshments such as pizza, Rita’s Ice and Gourmet Cupcakes from Flavor Cupcakery. Dr. Carpenter’s upbeat personality added excitement and energy as our bingo caller and MC for the evening. Thanks to Ms. Bethany Randall who operated the computerized bingo flashboard, the bingo games moved quickly and the verifying of the winning game cards gave everyone confidence that the winner receiving the prize was really a winner! Overall, it was a fun-filled evening with lots of great prizes AND we made money for our school! Thanks to the many sponsors who donated money and great prizes and raffles. Without you, this event would not have been possible. I’d also like to thank the many volunteers, teachers, staff and everyone else who helped with the planning, setting up, and volunteering the night of the event. We greatly appreciated your help and support! A very special THANK YOU to my co-chairperson, Suzanne Garrison and Committee Member, Jean Gross. I can never thank you enough for the countless hours we spent together planning, getting donations, sponsors, great prizes and food for the evening! Your dedication and commitment were very much appreciated! Lana Ophardt, Chairperson, Basket & Bags Bingo UPCOMING EVENTS: PTA MEETING – All parents are welcome!
