PRAXIS I (PPST)

Is the PRAXIS I (PPST) required?

Passing scores on all three sections on the PRAXIS I must be reflected on your UWM transcript in order to be considered
for admission to a teacher certification program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.

When should I take the PRAXIS I (PPST)?

The PRAXIS I should be taken at least six months prior to applying for admission to a teacher education program in the
Department of Curriculum and Instruction.

What are the passing scores for the PRAXIS I (PPST)?

If you are having difficulty passing any portion of the PRAXIS I, please contact your academic advisor prior to taking the
test a third time.

How do I ensure my PRAXIS II scores get posted on my transcript?

A copy of your scores must be sent to UWM by ETS. Your scores will be sent only if you indicate UWM as a score
recipient at the time your register. The code for UWM is 1473.

PRAXIS II
Is the PRAXIS II required?

Passing scores on the PRAXIS II must be reflected on your UWM transcript in order to be approved for a student teaching
placement.

When should I take the PRAXIS II?

Early Childhood Students: The PRAXIS II should be taken within a couple of months after you receive notification that
you have been admitted to the program.

Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence Students: The PRAXIS II should be taken no later than Bock II.

Early Adolescence – Adolescence Students (English, Math, Science and Social Studies): The PRAXIS II should be taken
when the majority of your content courses have been completed.

Early Childhood – Adolescence Students (English as a Second Language and World Languages): The PRAXIS II should
be taken when the majority of your content courses have been completed.
