Foreword from the Divisional Officer, Dublin Metropolitan Region (North)

I am pleased to present the 2009 Policing Plan for the Dublin Metropolitan Region (North) Division.

This year’s plan is based on a series of six strategic goals as outlined in the Garda Siochana Corporate Strategy 2007 - 2009 and the
2009 Policing Plan – ‘A Time for Change’.

These strategic goals address issues of National/International Security, Crime, Traffic and Road Safety, Public Order, Ethnic and
Cultural Diversity, Community Engagement. All are underwritten by a commitment to the achievement of the highest attainable level
of personal protection, community commitment and state security.

Cognisance is taken of public confidence and the prioritisation of customer needs as identified in the annual Public Attitude Survey. It
is my intention and through the efforts of my staff, to build further on the advances which were made in 2008.

The plan for this Division has been devised with a view to effecting an optimal Garda response in this Division to the strategic national
goals.

If you have any comments or suggestions you would like to make please forward them to me, at Ballymun Garda Station, Dublin 9 or
at ballymun_dv@garda.ie.
