                                                                                            Momentum equals mass times velocity. Our mass continues to
                                                                                            grow with 52,000 students currently studying at Leeds Met. The
                                                                                            speed of our acceleration in so many spheres of activity is also
                                                                                            encouragingly high.
                                                                                                Our sporting, cultural and educational partnerships are all
                                                                                            flourishing. Our Regional University Network, for example, now
                                                                                            embraces 14 partner colleges from Newcastle to Chesterfield
                                                                                            Colleges and from Grimsby to Belfast Institutes. Between us,
                                                                                            we have over 300,000 students in a commonwealth of lifelong
                                                                                            learning. To give but one example of our cultural partnerships,
                                                                                            the Black Dyke Band has brought our association to the
                                                                                            attention of 50,000 concert-goers in our first year of working
                                                                                            together. Similarly, our longest-standing sporting partners,
                                                                                            Leeds Rugby, sell 50,000 shirts each year with both the Rhinos'
                                                                                            and the Tykes' shirts bearing the Leeds Met rose.
