Information about IT Training courses at the University of Otago
IT Training Monthly: December 2007/ January 2008, Issue 77
2008
The IT Training wallplanners for 2008 are out (ring ITS Reception if you would like some). The observant among you may have noticed that for most Microsoft courses we are teaching two versions of the course. For example, the Pivot Tables and Data Consolidation training course is listed in the wallplanner as: Excel 2003 Pivot Tables and Data Consolidation on January the 17th, and is listed as Excel 2007 Pivot Tables and Data Consolidation on March the 18th. Because there is such a large difference between Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007 (these are versions 2004 and 2008 on the Macintosh) IT Training will be running separate training courses for people using each version of the software.
Excel 2003
Excel 2007
As well as the genereral scheduled training courses, if you have a group of people converting from 2003/2004 to 2007/2008 IT Training may be able to help by producing a custom training course that covers the specific areas of difference that you are interested in (contact IT Training to discuss details).
Macintosh Months
When you want to print off a month of dates to plan some events, the easiest way to do so on the macintosh is to use iCal. Open iCal and from the File menu, choose Print. Adjust the options on the print screen to suit.
To Print a Blank month, select a Calendar with no events in it.
Windows Months
Using Outlook, you can print blank months for planning with.
To do this (taken from Outlook's help): On the File menu, point to New, and then click Folder. Type a name for the folder, such as Blank Calendar. In the Folder contains list, click Calendar Items. Under Select where to place the folder, click Calendar, and then click OK. In the Folder List, click the new folder to select it. On the File menu, click Print, and then under Print style select the type of calendar you want. Under Print range, select the start and end date, and then click OK.
