a/1 – Preparing a mechanical power engineer capable to work with the new technologies
through

2. Adequate knowledge and applications of engineering sciences related to mechanical

    engineering applications.
4. Adequate communication skills to communicate with engineering processes, people

6- Program Admission Requirements
    Thanaweya Amma (mathematics) or equivalent, with grades according to the
    rules of the Supreme Council of Universities.

7- Regulations for Progression , Program Completion & Student Assessment Methods
    2nd Year/ 1st Level of Program
    In order to apply in any of the 4 programs offered by the faculty, the student
    should have at least a grade of “pass” in at least 10 courses out of the 12 courses
    offered in the first year.
    The distribution of students between the programs is done before applying to the
    3rd semester, according to the following:
           a. The student should fill an application form at the end of the
               2nd semester to choose the program he/she wishes to join (in a
               priority sequence)
           b. According to the capacity, staff, lab… of each department,
               the different programs accept students according to the
               following percentages :
              Mechanical power engineering            35%
               Civil engineering                      35%
               Architectural Engineering              15%
               Automotive Engineering                 15%
           c. Considering points (a) & (b), the students are distributed
               according to the total no.of grades attained by each student at
               the end of the 1st year (2nd semester)
    The student is not allowed to be promoted to the next level if he/she gets “fail”
    grades or incomplete in more than 2 courses

     3rd Year – 2nd Level of Program
     The student is not allowed to be promoted to the next level if he/she gets “fail”
     grades or incomplete in more than 2 courses



     4th Year – 3rd Level of Program
     The student is not allowed to be promoted to the next level if he/she gets “fail”
     grades or incomplete in more than 2 courses

     5th Year – 4th Level of Program
      For graduation, the student should have “pass” or higher grades in all courses
     Supplementary exams are to be held in September every year for the forth level
     students who failed in at most two courses of the forth level or of lower levels.
     However, the graduation project has no supplementary examination in
     September. The student gets fail grades if he does not attend the oral graduation
     project examination.

Student Assessment Methods: A wide range of assessment methods are used to
reflect the variety of learning and teaching practices and the level and type of
knowledge and skills being developed in the program. Among the assessment
methods, selected ones are used to reflect the learning outcomes of each course.
Aassessment is also used to determine the student progression. The timing and scope
of assessment activity is designed to promote and judge the student attainment. The
graduation project is evaluated by a jury of external & internal examiners.
