Meeting came to order by Janine Pleasant
Agenda:

Treasurer’s report – Kingsley Rutters
IRS had more questions about the Omnium. Income from non members is taxable.
Gross income for 2005 30,000+, 2007 62,000+. Income over 25000 is taxable.
Dues and kits are considered income but not taxable.
No fines have been mentioned but a 1099T needs to be filed.
Hoping that our status of 501c7 can be changed to 501c3 status.
The TCRC bank balance at the end of February is 28,956.
Janine will meet with her tax attorney and also check with other clubs and see how they
function and their status.
Criterium – Darryl Muck
Tony has started working on the Criterium associated with Fun Fest in Kingsport.
Joe Canino has been kind enough to send an email with lots of details.
There is an escrow fund of $1600 from last year.
Want to include Pro 1 and 2 fields in this years’ race.
Have $4000 in sponsorship money this year.
The funfest is behind the race.
Would like to have more juniors out there racing this year to draw more people to watch.
Club needs to get involved and develop the web site.
Try and cross promote it with the possum ride the day before.
Should a TT be included with the Criterium weekend?
Tony Falin will investigate the possibilities of having a TT on Saturday (check on a course, road
marshals needed, and check with officials….)
There will be commercials ran for the possum creek ride all the way down to Knoxville.
Kits – Darryl Muck
Over $18000 in orders submitted to champion.
$1300 was the last order submitted(not paid yet)
TCRC Omnium – Reneau D., Mike Seek,
Reneau D.
Working with fund raising for Roan groan.
$2000 currently from sponsorship more than last year.
Currently there is a schedule conflict with the covered bridge may have to look into moving
event.
This year the race will finish in the gardens at the very top. Take a right at the previous year’s
finish line and keep going…. More parking available up there.
Hoping to use online registration this year (bikereg)
Organizing volunteers for road marshals and other help.
Mike S.
Currently has 5 courses laid out.
Needs to ride them and not any have much climbing due to big climb earlier in the day.
Concerns are safe traffic control and corners.
Trying to keep TT between 3-5 miles.
Needs sponsors
Youth Team – Tom Lambert
First race weekend had a great turnout in the TT and the Criterium the next day.
Found a company that has bibs for Juniors (minimum 20 order)
Have one day a week for kids to train.
They are really doing well in their training.
Chris (Jessica’s Father) going to help out when he can.
Race Team Update - Perry Cannon
At the TT trial in snowing and freezing weather TCRC had 18 riders.
The next day at the Criterium there were 33 racers.
In the Greenville, SC series Brad Price finished 3rd in the masters category.
Zach Nave finished 9th in the road race.
IRS – Janine Pleasant
There is a new Bike shop called “The Bike Shop” located near Lowes.
They are going to carry Trek and Specialized bikes.
Next Tuesday 3-18-08 there will be a TCRC photo shoot at the pack ride.
Other Business:
Tom Lambert charging the club $250 for the vinyl stickers for the trailer.
Hampton Trails donated a juniors banner.
Dwayne Letterman asked for someone to take over organizing the Omnium, and Janine Pleasant
volunteered for that duty.
