FILLER METALS


                Available either bare or flux coated. Recommended for repair work
                on steel, cast iron and other copper base alloys. Has excellent
                surfacing characteristics when used on iron and steel. General
                mechanical and chemical qualitites include ductility, machinability,
                high strength, free flowing with good tinning action and low melting
                point. Excellent for building up large areas where successive layers
                must me added. Flux coated form assures proper tinning action and
                complete operator control of the molten puddle.

                RG-45 - Recommended for oxyacetylene welding on all ordinary steel. Its low cost and high quality
                make it ideal for welding applications on sheet, plate, pipe, auto bodies and other steels where ductility
                and machinability are important. Produces 45,000 PSI tensile strength 25% elongation. Conforms to

                RG-60 - Produces high strength welds and ductility on sheet, plate and pipes. Meets all specifications

                ER70S-2 Deoxidized - Recommended for high strength welding of low alloy steel. Used for fabricating

                to 105,000 PSI with an elongation of 21%. Alloy ID stamped on both ends. Conforms to AWS A5.18.

                ER70S-3 A highly deoxidized rod for welding mild steel providing a high tensile strength (75,000psi).
                Suitable for welding of rimmed and killed steels, process piping, tubing , wheels, steel castings and
                pressure vessels subjected to high stress. Alloy ID stamped on both ends. Conforms to AWS A5.18.
                Available diameters: 1/16” (1.6) 3/32” (2.4) 1/8” (3.2)

                ER70S-6 Mild steel rod with high silicon content for a highly fluid weld pool and excellent wetting.
                Applications include HVAC duct work, structural, heavy equipment and general carbon steel
                fabrications. Alloy ID stamped on both ends. Conforms to AWS A5.18. Available diameters: 1/16”

                ER80S-D2- This rod is often used for welding farm implements, automotive parts and pipe welds of X-
                ray quality. The “quick freeze” welding puddle characteristic permits quality out of position welds.
                Tensile strength is about 95,000 PSI with an elongation of 22%. Alloy ID stamped on both ends.
                Conforms to AWS A5.28. Available diameters: 1/16” (1.6) 3/32” (2.4) 1/8” (3.2)

                  Description
                   UBS6 contains high levels of manganese and silicon for stronger deoxidizing
                  power where stringent cleaning procedures are not possible. This wire has been
                  designed to provide X-ray quality porosity-free welds and the highest tensile
                  strength (as welded) of the plain carbon steel wires. The high silicon content
                  increases the fluidity of the weld pool, creating a smoother bead appearance and
                  resulting in minimal post-weld grinding. UBS6 is excellent where poor fit-ups or
                  rusty and oily plates may be used.

                  Construction work, tanks, truck bodies, farm implements, pipes, steel castings or
                  forgings, shaft build-ups and general shop fabrications.

                308L Unibraze 308L is used for TIG and MIG welding of unstabilized steels such as Types 301, 302, 304, 305,
                308. The average carbon content of 0.02% produces a weld deposit with good resistance against intergranular
                corrosion caused by carbide precipitation. This filler metal is the most popular grade among stainless steels, used
                for general purpose applications.

                309L Unibraze 309L is used for the welding of similar alloys in wrought or cast form. It is mostly used for welding
                dissimilar materials such as mild steel to stainless steel, as well as for a barrier layer in stainless overlays. Its low
                carbon content of less than 0.03% reduces the possibility of intergranular corrosion. For some applications,
                welding of straight chromium steels.

                316L Unibraze 316L is used to weld wrought and cast forms of similar composition, as well as low carbon
                molybdenum-bearing austenitic alloys. The lower ferrite level of this normal composition reduces the rate of
                corrosion in certain media and is suitable for use at cryogenic temperatures. The presence of molybdenum
                increases its creep resistance at elevated temperatures.

                All grades meet specification ASME SFA5.9 and are certified by CWB to AWS A5.9

                 308L electrodes contain extra low carbon for the welding of austenitic, low carbon 18% Cr – 8% Ni
                 stainless steels such as AISI-304-ELC. The weld deposit of this electrode contains a maximum of
                 0.04% carbon, which greatly reduces the formation of chromium carbides, thereby protecting the
                 corrosion resistant qualities of the base metal and weld. 308L electrodes have a high deposition
                 rate resulting in excellent efficiency. This electrode may be used in all positions. In addition to 304-
                 ELC, 308L electrodes may be used for stabilized stainless steels such as AISI 321 and 347, joint
                 welds in construction parts for chemical engineering and cryogenic applications.



                309L electrodes are used for welding 22% Cr – 12% Ni stainless steel, mild or carbon steel to
                stainless steel and stainless clad steel. This electrode will produce an austenitic-ferritic, ductile
                weld deposit that contains a maximum of 0.04% carbon, thereby providing good crack resistance
                and superior intergranular corrosion resistance. Typical applications include furnace parts, kiln
                linings, and heat treating boxes where strong corrosion resistance is required.


                316L electrodes produce weld deposits similar to that of 316, but with a maximum 0.04% carbon.
                This extra low carbon content gives the weld deposit excellent resistance against intergranular
                corrosion caused by carbide precipitation. 316L electrodes are used for welding 18% Cr – 12% Ni –
                2.5% Mo stainless steels where the corrosion resistant qualities of AISI 316L are required. This
                electrode has a high deposition rate and produces a weld deposit with fine bead appearance and
                exceptional crack-resistance. 316L electrodes are most commonly used in the textile, paper,
                cellulose, and chemical equipment industries for the fabrication of 316L, 318 and 319L stainless
                steel products.

                   PowerWeld E71T-1 is a rutile type flux cored wire designed for general purpose all position welding with 100% CO2 or a
                   80% Argon - 20% CO2 mixture shielding gas. Features excellent welding performance and higher welding efficiency

                Description
                Smooth Core Gasless Wire E71T-GS is an all-position, self-shielded flux-cored wire designed
                for single pass fillet and lap welding on galvanized or carbon steel as thin as 20 gauge, without
                burn-through. Gasless Wire E71T-GS is commonly used on small portable 110 volt welding
                machines, offering smooth arc action with very little spatter. Travel speed is fast, penetration is
                good and slag removal is easy.
                Applications
                Smooth Core Gasless Wire E71T-GS is most popular for the home workshop welder because it
                works so well on 110 volt machines and can be used on thin gauge steel. Gasless Wire E71T-
                GS is used quite extensively in automobile body shops for door or body repairs and it is also
                used for sheet metal duct work on lap and butt joints.
                NOTE: As with all self-shielded wires, Smooth Core Gasless Wire E71T-GS does contain
                fluoride compounds, which require more attention to ventilation when being used to weld
                galvanized steel. The zinc oxide formed during welding should not be inhaled as it can cause
                metal fume fever. When welding indoors or in an enclosed area, be sure that the ventilation is
                adequate.
