            Mexico has the largest Spanish speaking
          population in the world with more than twice as
          many as the second largest Spanish speaking
          county. It also has the largest number of Native
          American language speakers on the continent.

15,000 B.C. – the first Native American inhabitants arrive in Mexico.
5000 B.C. – the cultivation of corn is perfected.
3500 B.C. -- villages and towns appear in central Mexico.
1200 ~ 200 B.C. – Olmec civilization flourishes in the Gulf Coast
   region of Mexico.
A.D. 200 ~ 600 -- Teotihuacán civilization flourishes in the valley of
   Mexico.
300 ~ 900– Mayan civilization
1250 ~ 1520– the Aztecs rule most of Mexico.
1520 ~ 1810– ruled by Spain “New Spain”
1810 – against the Spain
1821 – won its independence.
1836 – lost texas
1846 ~ 1848– Mexican war.
1863 – the French invade Mexico to make Archduke Maximilian of
  Austria its emperor.
1877 ~1911-- Porfirio Díaz rules Mexico.
1910 ~1911– Francisco Madero against the Díaz
1911 – Madero elected president.
1913 – Madero killed by General Victoriano Huerta.
1914 – General Victoriano Carranza became president.
1915 ~ 50– Carranza returns to rule but battles the forces of Villa and
  Zaapta
1919 – the forces of Carranza assassinated Zapata
