BRASS Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)

   Mission Statement: The purpose of the BRASS Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), is to advise
   the BRASS co-investigators on the scientific direction of the Registry and evaluate the
   worthiness of projects proposing to use the registry. The committee will make
   recommendations to approve or disapprove such proposals and to prioritize projects.
   The SAB is composed of Senior Scientists from the Division of Rheumatology, Immunology and
   Allergy and related Departments within the Brigham & Women’s Hospital or Harvard Medical
   School, who will advise the BRASS co-investigators on the scientific direction of the Registry.
   This will include, but not be limited to, reviewing the following aspects of the study:
      1. methods for ongoing data collection;
      2. data collection instruments;
      3. subject recruitment and retention procedures;
      4. analytic protocols;
      5. opportunities for collaboration; and
      6. funding opportunities through development of grant proposals.
   Membership: Membership on the SAB is determined by the Co-PIs. Senior scientists from the
   Division of RIA and other Departments within the BWH Hospital or Harvard Medical school with
   an interest or expertise in research related to Rheumatoid Arthritis are eligible.
   Meeting Schedule: The BRASS Scientific Advisory Board meets Quarterly throughout the
   calendar year. Members of the SAB may be called upon between meetings for advice on any
   aspect of the study.
Study Protocols: All investigators seeking to work with data collected within the BRASS registry
will present a study proposal to the SAB at a regularly scheduled meeting (this can occur on an Ad
Hoc basis if necessary).
