Changes based on 802.11p (D5.0) and 1609.3 service handling changes
Now generates 802.11 primitive for each tx WSA (was done in 11p)
Now sends one rx WSA to WME per Provider channel interval (previously send
only first unique WSA)
Now sends WSA digest to WME for link quality monitoring
Now provides Immediate or Indefinite SCH access, as well as normal
Now segments and reassembles WSA frames as needed

6.3 MAC address anonymity

VII anonymity approach incorporated as an option
On the CCH
• OBUs may use a common MAC address: 0x02-00-00-00-00-00


On the SCH
• Address randomly selected from 0x02-00-00-00-00-01 - 0xFA-FF-FF-FF-FF-FF
 • Of form XQ-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX, where X is any hexadecimal number, and Q= [zz10 binary]
 • ~70 trillion numbers

• The MAC address of an anonymous WAVE device shall be reset to a new
  random value each time before service channel access is initiated.

New terminology
• “Application” is now “higher layer”
• Higher layers do not register, they request services
• We do not “join” a “WBSS”
 • We provide SCH access to satisfy service requests

• We do not maintain state information on applications
 • Service requests are either satisfied or not

A service is “available” and added to the list when an advertisement is received
