									                                                         KIDS ACTIVITIES
                    EarthFest LA 2011 will be held in Kenneth Hahn Park at 4100 S. La Cienega; Los Angeles, CA, on Saturday,
                    April 23, 2011, from 10 AM to 5 PM. This year’s Earth Day celebration will include many free activities for
                    family fun, including several activities just for kids.

   Surfrider Foundation's West Los Angeles/Malibu Chapter, in conjunction with the Foundation's 2011
    primary environmental campaign "RAP: Rise Above Plastics," will be demonstrating an Earth Day bag-
    fusing technique where single-use plastic bags can be transformed into a durable fabric that is ideal for
    many uses.

   Festuv, Inc. will be sponsoring a variety of interactive games and activities for kids aged nine and up, including bocce
    ball, mini-billiards and carrom. These activities will run throughout the entire day.

   Otis College will be sponsoring an EcoArt activity where kids can make posters and kites to help raise
    awareness for Earth Day and local environmental issues.

   Surfrider Foundation will present "Plastic: The Real Sea Monster." Visitors to the event are asked to bring a bag of
    cleaned plastic trash to add to the sea monster that volunteers will be building throughout the day.

   Watts HealthCare Corp is sponsoring a drum festival. Come experience the outdoor community brought together with
    interactive hand drums and percussions brought to and provided by Kaboom and Wobble.

   Surfrider Foundation will present "Make-a-Bag" workshops that will run continuously throughout the day. Visitors are
    asked to bring an old t-shirt to "up-cycle" into a new Earth Day shopping bag.

   Big Brazos World Village will present an ongoing activity making rainsticks out of recycled and natural materials. Their
    exhibit will also display a variety of handcrafted, cultural, and environmentally friendly instruments and artifacts from
    around the world.

   DangerMan, the Urban Superhero, will be on site throughout the day signing autographs and helping teach kids about
    the importance of literacy.

   Surfrider Foundation has partnered with the Children's Nature Institute this year. CNI will be at this Earth Day event
    with their popular "Wonder Mobile" and will provide hands-on nature talks with kids and families about the
    surrounding Kenneth Hahn State Park flora and fauna.

   Culver City Bike Club will sponsor a bicycle rodeo. Children 12 and under should bring their bikes and participate by
    riding through and over obstacles. This Earth Day activity will occur at the park’s basketball court, from 11:30 – 12:30
    and 2:30 – 3:30.

   Watts HealthCare Corp will sponsor a hula hoop contest where kids of all ages can show their stuff. A new contest will
    begin at the top of each hour, and the kids get to take their hula hoop home with them.

   Face painting will be provided by Bonkers the Clown.

   Watts HealthCare Corp will sponsor a mini boot camp during the afternoon led by Ron Carter of Carson’s Adventure
    Boot Camp. Both kids and parents can participate together in this fun family activity.

   The Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, organized by the 50 Street Youth Program and led by Orlando Eptine, will lead
    kids in a cooperative team building activity throughout the day.

   Watts HealthCare Corp will present the “Wheel of Health Knowledge” throughout the day to help kids learn healthy
    life habits, and prizes will be given to all participants.
