                            SPECIALIST RADIATION ONCOLOGIST



POSITION PURPOSE

To provide Radiation Oncology specialist care to patient’s resident within the Otago
and Southland regions.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

     1. The Oncology and Haematology Service is committed to implementing a team-
        based approach to providing excellence in patient care, and to improving the
        value of the service by improving the quality of the service.
     2. The specialist is expected to participate in the peer review activities with the
        objective of providing a high standard of clinical practice and clinical expertise,
        contributing to the provision of effective and efficient Oncology Services at
        Dunedin Hospital and throughout the Southern DHB region.

    SERVICE PROVISION

    Direct clinical contact will make up 70%of position, 30% non-clinical time. Service
    provision will include participation in the after hours rosters maintained by the
    Oncologists at a planned frequency of 1 in 3.

  COMPETENCY PROFILE

  Must hold the fellowship of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of
  Radiologists or a similar qualification that can be registered with the Medical Council
  of New Zealand for the practice of Radiation Oncology.
