                PARENT/PLAYER RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT

The following is a brief summary of the responsibilities that the Springboro Youth Basketball (SYB)
Association and the head coach would like each player and parent to review.

PRACTICES: The practice times will be provided to you by the head coach.
Players should be in the gym and ready to practice before the start of practice.
Bring the basketball provided to you to every practice.
NO FOOD, DRINK, OR WATER BOTTLES ARE PERMITTED IN THE GYM.

GAMES: Your head coach will let you know the time you need to report to each game.
It is important to report at the specified time. Be sure to bring your home and away uniforms
to each game in case a conflict occurs with the other team.

PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR HEAD COACH IF YOU WILL NOT BE AT A GAME OR PRACTICE!!

PLAYER ATTITUDE / BEHAVIOR / GRADES:
   • Players should maintain a positive attitude at all times.
   • Players are to be respectful toward coaches, teammates, opposing teams, referees, and fans.
   • Profanity, rude behavior, or inappropriate talk will not be tolerated.
   • Players are not to argue or talk negatively with referees.
   • Schoolwork is the priority. Players should maintain good grades and positive conduct in school.

THE HEAD COACH AND/OR THE SYB BOARD WILL DECIDE PLAYER DISCIPLINE. THE
DISCIPLINE COULD RANGE FROM A WARNING, SUSPENSION, OR EXPULSION FROM THE TEAM.
EXPULSION FROM THE TEAM MAY BE APPEALED TO THE SPRINGBORO YOUTH BASKETBALL
ASSOCIATION BOARD.

PARENT EXPECTATIONS: The Springboro Youth Basketball Association and its coaches request the
parents and spectators to refrain from coaching from the stands. It makes it very difficult on everyone involved.
We do encourage parents to cheer positively for the entire team. Parents are asked to refrain from making
negative comments concerning our players and coaches, opposing players and coaches, and referees. If a
problem arises, the Springboro Youth Basketball Association and/or the head coach will address the issue with
the individual involved. Parents who choose not to follow the above guidelines could lose their privilege of
attending games.

                                                                                                                 1
Parents are encouraged to talk with the head coach concerning any questions, concerns, or problems. If
that does not solve the issue, the parents should talk to the appropriate director.

UNIFORMS: The game uniforms are included in the $225.00 fee. Therefore, the uniforms are yours to keep
at the end of the season.

BASKETBALL SHOES: The basketball shoes should only be worn at practices and games until the season is
completed. For the safety of others in the gym and to preserve the gym floor, please do not put your basketball
shoes on until you are in the gym and ready for the game or practice.

FEES: The fee for the 2010-2011 basketball season is $225.00. Each player will receive a basketball, practice
jersey, game uniform, shooting shirt and sweat pant, an end of year tournament, and a competitive league
schedule.

END OF REGULAR SEASON TOURNAMENT: At the end of the regular season, the teams will play in an
end of year tournament. Each team is responsible for working during the tournament at the positions of
scorekeeper, clock, concessions, gate, etc. For each child you have playing on a Select team, parent(s) will be
required to work a shift at a designated tournament site. If the parent(s) are unable to personally work, they are
still required to find an adult to work in your place. Notification of the required work schedule will be
communicated prior to the tournament. Any team who does not meet its obligation in working the end of year
tournaments, will not receive money / awards for their end of year team party.
