Firefighters and Police Officers Hoop it Up for Charity

Lakewood, Wash. – The 6th annual Helmets vs. Shields charity basketball game is
scheduled for Saturday, June 19th at Pierce College at 6:00 p.m. Come out and watch
the firefighters and police officers battle on the court to raise money for charity.

This year’s game is dedicated in loving memory of our four fallen heroes. Officer Ronnie
Owens was a Helmets vs. Shields veteran and his jersey will be retired and presented to
his family.

Tickets will be available at the door for $5.00 each. Children age five and under are free.

A silent auction and raffle will be held at the game. All of the items have been donated
by local businesses, which include, but are not limited to: a year-long membership for a
family of four to the YMCA (a $1600 value), 24 Hour Fitness memberships, 911 Driving
School student package, sporting event tickets, local restaurant gift certificates, and
much more. The silent auction will begin at 5:45 p.m. and raffle tickets will be sold at
the game. Raffle tickets will be $1 each, $5 for 10, $10 for 12, or $20 for 30.

T-shirts will also be available at the game for $15 each. A choice of police or fire shirts
are available in adult sizes Small-XXL.

All of the proceeds go to the Life Safety Charity Fund and the Lakewood Police
Independent Guild Make a Difference Fund.
