					                              Viking Head Coach, Phil
                              Dorn, is beginning his 28
                              year of football coaching
                              and his fifth year as Head
                              Coach at Bishop Verot.
                              Since taking over the
                              Vikings,     the     football
                              program has grown from
                              42 to over 120 participants.
                              Under his guidance, the
                              Viking football program has
experienced back-to-back winning seasons in 2007 and
2008. The 2007 Vikings finished District 2A-5 runner-up
and played in the first round of the 2007 FHSAA State
Playoffs. The Vikings have been recognized with the
Southwest Florida District 16 - 2A Players of the Year in
both 2007 and 2008. 2007 also produced the Second
Leading Passer, Scoring Leader, Leading Receiver and
Second Leading Total Offense Leader. Phil Dorn and his
staff were recognized by Coach Dorn being named                 “Non Excidet”
District 16 - 2A Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008, as                                               FOR YOUTH ENTERING

at Wilmington College. Prior to that, Coach Dorn was the

In addition to coaching at Cincinnati, Dorn served as

Offensive Coordinator for California University (PA),
where the team finished sixth in the NCAA Division II in                                   BISHOP VEROT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
rushing. He was also the Offensive Coordinator at Butler
University.                                                                              EXPERIENCE EXCEPTIONAL NON-CONTACT
                                                                                                 FOOTBALL INSTRUCTION
He served as defensive graduate assistant coach for the
University of Michigan for the Big 10 Champion
Wolverines and coached in the Rose Bowl. He worked
the same capacity at Ball State University helping the
team defense finish #1 in the MAC and #2 in the NCAA
in total defense. He was an assistant coach at Capital
University where he was the offensive backfield and
offense special teams coach.

The Wittenberg University graduate received his Masters
Degree from The Ohio State University and is a Certified
