STATEMENT OF PURPOSE My strong interest in MBA originated, when it was first introduced to me as the process of creating and delivering customer value, in my sophomore year of International Business Management. Grounded with basic business and economic knowledge, I had then begun to think about the dynamics behind the real business world. MBA, with its primary role in the corporate value chain, is of great strategic importance to the success of any business. I thought in order to understand business phenomenon better and solve the problems effectively, I must explore MBA in depth. Thus, I attended as many MBA courses as possible. Besides the required courses of Principles of Marketing and International Marketing, I also took the electives like Marketing Research & Modern Advertising, and studied Consumer Behavior by myself. Case studies in these courses enabled me to link theory with practice and it was through them that I found myself highly exhilarated by the intellectual challenge and stimulation associated with analyzing market information and formulating strategic plans. Thereby, I set my mind on a career in marketing and human resource. While the more experience I gained, the more eager I see myself developing theoretical framework for formulating better Management strategies. In order to do that, I should be fed on advanced marketing, management, economics, psychology, and mathematics knowledge first. Then, on the solid theoretical and methodological platform, I hope to conduct original research that will contribute to both the science and the practice of marketing. The MBA course in UWIC is an internationally recognized and respected qualified, and it includes major functions of business. The course directs students from many public and private sectors in all over world. Moreover, the key feature of the MBA program is the scheduled industrial visits in multinational companies. UWIC offers MBA with Elective modules and I would like to do MBA with International Marketing and Human Resource Development. Equipped with knowledge on marketing and other related business disciplines upon graduation, I would like to start my career in the Management field with intensive involvement in the areas of marketing mix strategies, market structure & competitive analysis, retailing, Internet marketing and human resource. There are some aspects of the course attracts me most like UWIC has no more than forty students in each class, allowing quality contact time with tutors, Internationally focused, Industrial visits, English Language Support, Management of competitive environment, people & performance and information. After the completion of MBA, I would like to start my carrier in Management field as a Marketing Manager. I have supervisory expertise, with special-strength in human relations and personnel skills development. I like drawing, creative activities, organizing competitions, participating in contests etc, and my hobbies are reading, listening music, playing chess, acting and traveling. To join academia and be a scholar in marketing and Human Resource is my ultimate career goal and a distinguished MBA program like that provides the nurturing environment. I find many professors specialized in marketing strategy, retailing, and channel of distribution and new product development, which fit my interests and background well. To my great joy, the Center for Education and Research in Retailing is an ideal place to learn the latest retailing theory, conduct state-of- the-art research and get in close touch with the retailing industry. The rich faculty-student research collaboration also delights me.
