The state’s up and coming boccia champions will be joined by their counterparts
from New Zealand in competing for state honours in the inaugural Junior Titles to
be held in Avalon next month.

This will be the first tournament for some of the young athletes, whilst others have
already experienced national competition. The atmosphere will be one of friendly
competition, with the key principles being enjoyment and friendships.
‘These athletes are future champions who will no doubt represent NSW in years to
come’, said Sue Olsen, one of the NSW Coaches.
‘Despite their young ages, they have developed skills quickly. But it is important that they
enjoy their Boccia and that is what this tournament is primarily about.
‘The junior competitors have been selected from many talent search days held over the
last two years.
‘They are the next generation of representative players and it is exciting for us to work
with such enthusiastic kids who are supported by wonderful parents.’
The event, to be held on 15 April, is sponsored by Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Pittwater
Rotary and Pittwater Day Surgery. Spectators are encouraged and admission is free.
