Souls Fire By Eclipse A fire in one’s soul A tax too high does extol, Seeks naught but pain. As the tale of Cain, Shall the unchecked flame, End in bitter regret As such used in good, Shall leave too large a debt. And a choice upon its bearer is beset. Of utter hate mistook is its make, For what man can coals to his bosom rake, And yet remain unscathed, But feel an insatiable draw Towards rage. Rage nought of which he was aware. A fire unto its own law. In past was he never so zealous, As the day he found himself jealous
