A rich history, a strong future
• The then Hanoi Swans were established in 2003
• Since then, the Swans stimulated enough interest in Saigon for a combined
National “Vietnam Swans” team to be formed.
• The Vietnam Swans had a strong influence in the formation of the Lao
Elephants Aussie Rules Club in 2007
• Last year, the Vietnam Swans actively supported the formation of the Saigon
Shooters Netball Club
• Last year, the Vietnam Swans used our football matches to raise awareness and
funds, as well as demonstrate support, for appropriate causes
• Reflecting our broadening role in the community, Australian film crews will visit
the Swans in March and May 2010
• The Vietnam Swans are trying to build an environment where sponsors, players
and supporters are proud to be part of the Club
vietnamswans@gmail.com www.vietnamswans.com
Objectives of the Club
• To play regular competitive, international matches to:
• Appeal to players who like competition
• Create the reason for the Club to exist
• To build a true “Club” environment that is social and appeals to a wider and
more diverse group than just hard-core footballers
• To create special and significant functions / events that provide attendees
with a richer experience that is also good fun
• To use Aussie Rules - Australia’s signature sport – as a vehicle to promote
Australian causes where appropriate (eg Bushfire Appeal, Experience
Australia Day etc)
• To improve the fitness of people
• To use our football club as a vehicle to promote our sponsors to ensure they
receive fair value for their sponsorship
