(defining which information users or user groups
  can view, edit, publish, etc.)
• Aid in easy storage and retrieval of data
• Reduce repetitive duplicate input
• Improve the ease of report writing
• Improve communication between users
           List of CMS
• Joomla
• Drupal
• Ajax
                       Joomla
• Joomla! is a free and open source content
management system (CMS) for publishing content on
the World Wide Web and intranets. It comprises a
  model–view–controller (MVC) Web application
framework that can also be used independently.
• Joomla! is written in PHP, uses object-oriented
programming (OOP) techniques and software design
patterns, stores data in a MySQL database, and
includes features such as page caching, RSS feeds,
printable versions of pages, news flashes, blogs, polls,
search, and support for language internationalization.
                            Drupal
• Drupal is a free and open source content management system
(CMS) and Content Management framework (CMF) written in PHP
and distributed under the GNU General Public License. It is used as
a back-end system for at least 1.5% of all websites worldwide
ranging from personal blogs to corporate, political, and government
sites including whitehouse.gov and data.gov.uk.It is also used for
  knowledge management and business collaboration.

• The standard release of Drupal, known as Drupal core, contains
basic features common to CMSs. These include user account
registration and maintenance, menu management, RSS-feeds, page
layout customization, and system administration. The Drupal core
installation can be used as a brochureware website, a single- or
multi-user blog, an Internet forum, or a community website
  providing for user-generated content.
                              Ajax
• Ajax (pronounced shorthand for asynchronous JavaScript and XML)
is a group of interrelated web development methods used on the
client-side to create interactive web applications. With Ajax, web
applications can retrieve data from the server asynchronously in the
background without interfering with the display and behavior of the
existing page. Data is usually retrieved using the XMLHttpRequest
object. Despite the name, the use of XML is not needed, and the
  requests need not be asynchronous.
• Like DHTML and LAMP, Ajax is not one technology, but a group of
technologies. Ajax uses a combination of HTML and CSS to mark up
and style information. The DOM is accessed with JavaScript to
dynamically display, and to allow the user to interact with the
information presented. JavaScript and the XMLHttpRequest object
provide a method for exchanging data asynchronously between
browser and server to avoid full page reloads.

                          SEO
• Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of
improving the visibility of a website or a web page in
search engines via the "natural" or un-paid ("organic"
or "algorithmic") search results. Other forms of search
engine marketing (SEM) target paid listings. In general,
the earlier (or higher on the page), and more
frequently a site appears in the search results list, the
more visitors it will receive from the search engine's
users. SEO may target different kinds of search,
including image search, local search, video search,
news search and industry-specific vertical search
engines. This gives a website web presence.
                 Web design
• Web design is a broad term used to encompass
the way that content (usually hypertext or
hypermedia) is delivered to an end-user through
the World Wide Web, using a web browser or
other web-enabled software to display the
content. The intent of web design is to create a
website—a collection of online content including
documents and applications that reside on a web
server/servers. A website may include text,
images, sounds and other content, and may be
  interactive.
          Web design dimension
• The content: The substance and information on the
site should be relevant to the site and should target the
area of the public that the website is concerned with.
• The usability: the site should be user-friendly, with the
interface and navigation simple and reliable.
• The appearance: the graphics and text should include a
single style that flows throughout, to show consistency.
The style should be professional, appealing and
  relevant.
• The structure: of the web site as a whole.

         Dynamic Webpage
A dynamic web page is a kind of web page
that has been prepared with fresh information
(content and/or layout), for each individual
viewing. It is not static because it changes
with the time (ex. a news content), the user
(ex. preferences in a login session), the user
interaction (ex. web page game), the context
(parametric customization), or any
combination of the foregoing.
                    Static web page

• A static web page (sometimes called a flat page) is a web page that
is delivered to the user exactly as stored, in contrast to dynamic
web pages which are generated by a web application.
• Consequently a static web page displays the same information for
all users, from all contexts, subject to modern capabilities of a web
server to such versions are available and the server is configured to
  do so.
• Static web pages are often HTML documents stored as files in the
file system and made available by the web server over HTTP.
However, loose interpretations of the term could include web pages
stored in a database, and could even include pages formatted using
a template and served through an application server, as long as the
page served is unchanging and presented essentially as stored.

JAVA for web designing
         Java Script Validation

It can provide a great solution when
validating input forms on the client’s side. If a
user misses to fill a required criterion in the
form, then Java Script validation can generate
a pop up message as a warning to the user.
This kind of validation is taken to be better
than a server side validation. Similar forms can
be created with PHP or ASP but with Java
Script, a user cannot submit the form without
completely filling it.
         Dynamic Image Effects
Java Script can be used to create dynamic
effects. With it scripted slideshows and
rollover images can be programmed. With the
use of this script, the appearance of a user’s
screen can also be altered after the server
sends the page.
