‘TRACK THE EAGLES’ EVENT ALONG RIVER LINE SATURDAY, AUG. 20TH Special Family Activities at Burlco Stations and Towns To encourage residents and visitors to see Burlington County’s eagle sculptures before they are removed for auction in the fall, a “Track the Eagles” event with special activities and promotions at the stations and towns along the River LINE is planned for Saturday, August 20th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Burlington County Freeholders are sponsoring the event, in partnership with NJ TRANSIT and the non-profit art, cultural and historical organizations that will benefit from auction of the eagles October 1st at the Palmyra Cove Nature Center. Color brochures describing the eagles and locations will be provided. “We encourage everyone to enjoy this opportunity to ride the River LINE to view these colorfully decorated eagles, many of which depict sights unique to Burlington County and the river towns,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Vincent R. Farias, co-chair of The Eagles Have Landed steering committee. Riders on the River LINE will be able to view the six-foot tall eagle sculptures at 11 stations from Palmyra to Bordentown and disembark at towns of their choice. The non-profit organizations are planning entertainment, games, raffles and discount coupons for nearby merchants. (more)
