  Ceremony of Initiation – Commandant Weisgerber swore in Bud Courtney, PFC Greg Kimma, and
                           Dr. Floyd Okada

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Accepted as sent

CORRESPONDENCE:
  Letter from American Legion Post 99 informing everyone of the selling of shares to defray costs
  of building improvements.
  Email from Department Adjutant regarding the National Dues Increase. (Commandant will cover
  under Officer Reports.)

REPORT OF PAYMASTER: Paymaster Byrne reports a total of $7,918.91 in the bank.

REPORT OF SICKNESS OR DISTRESS:
  Report on Jim Richardson. He is doing OK, he is under Dr’s care at PAVAH.
REPORT OF OFFICERS:
  Commandant Weisgerber: Reported on the National Dues increase. The yearly dues paid to the
  National is going up $6.00 per member renewal a/o 1/1/07. The Detachment Officers felt that it
  would be unfair to the members to pass the increase on to them at such a late date. The
  Detachment will pay the $6.00 increase for the 2007 year. The increase will be addressed in 2007
  to add to the by-laws and start on 1/1/08.

  Sr. Vice Commandant Kimma: working with Brian Bonafede on the Strategic Plan, and will bring
  Plan draft to Officer’s Staff Meeting on 15 November.

  Adjutant Marte: presented a “100% Membership Plus Ribbon” to the Detachment. The Ribbon
  was presented at the Department Staff meeting earlier in the year.

  Quarter Master: Jr. Past Commandant Glazzy reported on the new sources for the Red Blazers, as
  the old company has gone out of business. He also reported on the Baseball style caps, he has
  four different ones and wants a general consensus of the members present to choose one style.
  Glazzy also had some t-shirts for sale. He also talked about the Reasoner Detachment’s Birthday
  Ball to be held on 4 November at the San Leandro Veteran’s Hall.

No other Officer Reports.

ELECTIONS:
  Commandant talked about the upcoming election of Officers. He will accept nominations for any
  of the elected offices by email or snail mail. Nominations will be made at the November and
  December meetings with the vote taking place at the December meeting. New Officers will be
  sworn into office at the January meeting.

REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEES:
  PAVA Hospital – Lore Wiseman – No report

REPORT OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES:
  Birthday Ball: Commandant Weisgerber – Denny has tickets to hand out after the meeting. Still
  have openings for 80 – 85 more guests. Entertainment will be provided by the Singing Blue Star
  Moms who do an “Andrews Sister” type of show. Guest speaker at the Ball will be Major Sean
  Pascoli, Commanding Officer of the San Francisco Recruit Stations.

  Parades: Mike Glazzy has a sign up sheet for the San Jose Parade. Mike later sent out information
  that the Detachment will be in the 4th Division unit #71.

  Santa Clara Veteran’s Memorial Service: Mike Marte reported that the ceremony will be at 1530
  hrs at Central Park in Santa Clara. Invited all members to come out and participate.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
  Introduction of Bernardo Arce who turned in his application during the meeting. Still need to
  receive a copy of his DD214 before application can be processed.

NEW BUSINESS:
  Tim Curtin and Brian Bonafede proposed a new fund raiser, a Texas Hold-em tournament to be
  held at CSR. A date will be determined. Tim and Brian will work out the details and mail the
  proposal out to the members.

GOOD OF THE LEAGUE:
  Dick LaTondre talked about a proposal being worked on that would allow Military Service
  Organizations, such as ours, to hold meetings in a building on Moffett Field. Talks are still in
  progress, any information will be forwarded to the membership.
   Christmas Party, Weisgerber to check with the Omega Restaurant (same place as last year), Marte
   to check with Elks to see if it could be held at the Elks Lodge.

   Raffle: $100.00 total. The $50.00 winner was Commandant Denny Weisgerber, who donated the
   money back to the Detachment for the building fund.

NEXT MEETINGS: Staff Officers meeting on 15 November at 1900 hrs. Membership Meeting on 18
  November, refreshments at 0930 hrs, meeting at 1000 hrs.
