BSL
Horizontal cutting machine
The BSL 200, 204 and 214 horizontal cutting machines cut or split materials with low • Materials with low or medium densities are cut or split into stacks

• Ideal for special applications such as latex cutting
Application area: Furniture and mattress industry, automotive and motor vehicle industry, packaging
industry, technical articles and the filter industry • The 30 mm wide band knife runs over four wheels and is guided in the cutting area by a teflonised
binding which is highly pre-tensioned
Material: Polyurethane foam and rebond foam, visco foam, ether and ester foam,
Basotect®, latex, reticulated foam, melamine foam • The grinding duration and grinding cycle of the knife can be manually set by the operator at
the grinding unit
Cutting tool: Endless, 30 mm wide band knife running over 4 wheels, stabilised
by an upper and lower binding BSL 200
• Semi-automatic machine with reversing belt system
• Manual adjustment of knife binding on the BSL 200 to ensure a precise cutting result
• The cutting speed is 50 m/min, depending on the material

• To cut and split sheets of widely differing thicknesses, the BSL 204 horizontal cutting machine is equipped
with a reversing table and the BSL 214 with a reversing belt system
• Long knife service lives and low set-up costs since, due to the cutting unit being pivotable, the knife is not
twisted and consequently relieved of stress
• The fully automatic sequence of adjusting the cutting unit and angle ensures consistent quality, even
should operating personnel change
• Qualities can be stored so that the cutting unit is automatically pivoted into the optimum position for the
material when changing the cutting thickness. As a result, knife service lives are improved and set-up
costs are reduced

Horizontal cutting machines with turntable
The horizontal cutting machines with turntable, types BSL-D and BST-D, cut or split great quantities of
PU soft foam or similar materials with low or high densities into stacks.

Material: Polyurethane foam and rebond foam, visco foam, ether and ester foam,
Basotect®, latex, reticulated foam, melamine foam • Turntable cutting machines are used for the cost-effective and efficient production of larger
quantities of sheets
Cutting tool: Endless, 30 mm wide (BSL-D) or 60 mm wide (BST-D) band knife running
over 4 wheels, stabilised by an upper and lower binding • The specially reinforced construction of the BST-D cutting unit allows the optimum converting of medium
to high densities, while the BSL-D is designed to optimally process light to medium densities
• The machines are equipped with turntables with different diameters depending on the quality and density
of the foam material to be cut and in line with the capacity requirement
• The table runs on plastic rollers to achieve high smoothness
• The turntable, which is fitted with perforated plates, can be equipped with two vacuum chambers in the
cutting area for improved fixation of the material during the cutting process
• The cutting speed in the outer area of the table reaches up to 100 m/min. and can be set infinitely
variably, depending on the materiall and cutting thickness
• Depending on the materiall quality and cutting thickness, the cutting unit can be pivoted to prevent the
band knife from twisting and to increase knife service lives
• Different material qualities, including the corresponding cutting angles and cutting thicknesses, can be
stored in the memory and called up again later
• Control system feature "Reduction of cutting times": When loading the machine with only one block, the
peripheral speed increases.
- As soon as the individual block reaches the light barrier upstream the knife, the machine automatically
changes to the previously selected cutting speed
- When the knife leaves the block, the table accelerates again to maximum speed
• Control system feature "Nonstop cutting": Depending on the cutting thickness, the control calculates the
ideal table speed in the area of the knife adjustment:
- According to the cutting thickness, the knife is adjusted without any reduction of the table speed
- The cutting capacity of the machine increases considerably
- Consequently, wear of the mechanical drive components of the table is minimized
• Fully automatic version of the turntable cutting machine with a table diameter of 7 200 mm for automatic
loading and unloading (option):
- Loading and unloading belts upstream and downstream the machine
- Integration of three conveyor belt systems in the table
- Ideal for use in mattress cutting lines

Horizontal cutting machine
The BFS horizontal cutting machine serves for the economical cutting or splitting of sheet and foil ware with low
and medium densities with a minimum lenght of 10 m.
Application area: Packaging industry, furniture industry, mattress industry
Material: Polyurethane foam and comparable materials with low to medium densities,

Cutting tool: Endless, 30 mm or 60 mm wide band knife, stabilized by a
knife bar or an upper and lower binding
• The BFS horizontal cutting machine is equipped with a discharging conveyor belt downstream
the knife binding, so that the sheets cut off can be separated from the residual block and
further processed by the operating personnel
• It can be equipped with different types of cutting units in order to be able to convert materials
of different qualities, densities and strain hardnesses
• The fully automatic sequence of adjusting the cutting unit and angle ensures consistent quality,
even if the operating personnel change
• Qualities can be stored so that the cutting unit is automatically pivoted into the optimum
position for the material when changing the cutting thickness
• The discharging conveyor belt can be moved to the upper parking position so that the machine
can be used to cut in stacks
• Long knife service lives and low set-up costs since, due to the cutting unit being pivotable, the
knife is not twisted and consequently relieved of stress
