                SECTOR SKILLS AUDIT QUESTIONNAIRE
                                  Compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers
                                           August/September 2006

The W&RSE TA has c ommitted itself to addressing the skills shortages in the Wholesale and Retail sector by
appointing PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as its partner t o conduct a sector skills audit. The purpose of this
survey is to determine what are the current skills in the Wholesale and Retail sector and to determine what the
future skills needs are. This survey will also attempt to highlight those critical and sca rce skills needed in the
sector.


You are invited to participate in the above research project. The information you give in response to this survey
will provide the W&RSE TA with valuable information and insight to effectively plan for skills development. The
ultimate beneficiary of this information is t he W&R sector itself, as the findings from this questionnaire will be
consolidated into a comprehensive report that will inform the sector skills plan of int erventions and initiatives
needed to improve skills development in the sector.


 IMPORTANT NOTES:
       This questionnaire should take you approximately 20 minute s to complete.
       The questionnaire is divided into two (2) Sections, namely:
              Section One: Deals wit h obtaining a profile of your organisation. You will need to have specific
              company information (e. g. number of employees, gender breakdown, equity information, etc) on
              hand to complete this section. This is typically information found in a workplace skills plan.
              Section Two: Deals with obtaining information on current and future skills needs.
       All responses to this questionnaire will be treated with the strictest confidence and anonymity.
