 EVENT OVERVIEW

On May 16 & 17, 2008, firefighters and their families from across the
United States and Canada will descend on Lakeshore Park in Brandon,
Mississippi for the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge.

For years firefighters from Mississippi and throughout North America
have competed against each other in the Firefighter Combat
Challenge. Though this is a spirited, friendly competition, the Combat
Challenge is about physical skills and endurance as well as personal
and team commitment. The event simulates the rigors of a firefighter’s
duty and demonstrates the levels of fitness required to perform their
daily job. ESPN has referred to the Firefighter Combat Challenge as
"The Toughest Two Minutes in Sports".

We are excited to bring back this regional event to the Reservoir area
for the third year as part of Reservoir Fire Fest 2008. The two day
festival will kick off with the corporate challenge. Then firefighters
representing U.S. and Canadian fire departments will compete to
qualify for the national competition to be held later in 2008.

The “Kid’s Crawl, Drag and Squirt”; a scaled down version of the
professional course complete with miniature bunker gear and inflatable
obstacles, will also be available at no cost for every child who wants to
try his or her hand at being a firefighter for the day.

On Saturday morning a Firefighter’s Parade featuring emergency
vehicles from all across the state converge on the streets of Brandon.
In addition to the professional and children’s competition areas their
will be: food vendors, kid’s zone, fire expo, and demonstrations by the
Reservoir Fire Department.

Reservoir Fire Fest 2007 featured over 175 competitors from all across
the United States and had an average attendance of 3,000 per day.
We invite everyone in the community to join us in our support for all of
the firefighter competitors from across the nation. The event will be a
fun filled weekend for the entire family!

Take your place in history! Plan to take part in the activities and
festivities, volunteer your time and talents, or contribute monetarily to
this annual celebration.
 CHALLENGE OVERVIEW

The Firefighter Combat Challenge provides a snapshot of one of the
most physically demanding and respected of occupations. It is an
intense, spirited competition that demonstrates to the viewing public
the nature of the job, and no job is more dependent upon the physical
prowess of its work force. The Challenge is an urgent race against
time, and time is the mortal enemy of all firefighters as fire doubles in
size every 90 seconds.

Wearing "full bunker gear" and a Scott Air-Pak(r), pairs of firefighter’s
race head-to-head on a linked series of five grueling fire-related tasks.
Competitors must climb a five story tower while carrying a 45-lb high-
rise pack, then hoist a 45-lb hose roll to the top of the tower. Next
they descend to the base of the tower where they simulate chopping
by driving a 160-lb steel beam a distance of five feet using a 9-lb. shot
mallet. They then zigzag 140-ft. between hydrants to the fourth
station, where they advance an attack hose a distance of 75-ft.
Finally, the competitors must drag a life-sized, 175-lb "victim" a
distance of 100-ft to the finish line (the world record is under 80
seconds).

Competition categories include individuals (men and women), teams,
relays and age groups. Hailed by ESPN as "The Toughest 2 Minutes" in
Sports," the Challenge is a competition with a purpose: it's about
performing one of the most dangerous jobs safer and better. These
competitors are in every respect, world-class athletes.

 KID’S ZONE OVERVIEW

Firefighter Combat Challenge. Along with the “Kids” Crawl, Drag and
