                      M-400A2 LUMINAIRE

   GENERAL DESCRIPTION


    The enclosed luminaire shall be weather
resistant (protection degree of IP65 for the
optical assembly and IP43 for the ballast
compartment), with and independent reflector
from the cover. It shall operate with high-
pressure sodium, mercury vapour and metal
halide lamps up to 600 watts, and also low-
pressure sodium lamps of 55 watts. The optical
assembly shall remain closed when operating the
ballast compartment. The luminaire shall be
suitable for post-top (V) and pole mounting (H).




    Ballast, housing, optical and luminaire assembly shall all belong to the same
manufacturer


    .
   MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION


    The luminaire shall include two die-cast aluminum (top and bottom) housings, and
shall have a polyester powder paint finish. In order to achieve high corrosion-
resistant, the used alloy shall contain a low copper proportion, less than 4%.


    All external-housing pieces shall be in die-cast aluminum, i.e., all top housing,
glass lens and ballast door. Furthermore, they shall be electrostatically sprayed with a
polyester powder paint finish, following anti-corrosion priming and oven cured at
180ªC. The finishing shall fit the UNE 48024-80, 48059-82 and 48099-85 standards.

    The main designing characteristics shall be:


    Low wind coefficient: The maximum projected area shall be 0.10 m2.


    The control gear shall be mounted on a metallic tray fixed to the bottom housing.
This unit shall be easily removable with lamp disconnection by means of an electrical
connector. The ballast access shall be tool-less, opening the top housing latch. The
ballast compartment shall have a total volume upper to 13 dm3 to grant adequate
component refrigeration.


    The lampholder shall be made of reinforced porcelain, with a device that allows
multiple lamp position choice according to the lamp type and photometric distribution
choice. The lamp access shall be tool-less.


    For pole mounting (option /H), the arm fixing shall be made by means of tube
adaptor of 42 to 60 mm diameter, fixed to the housing through four assembly screws
that allows a +3º inclination related to the horizontal. For post-top mounting (option
/V), the arm fixing shall be made by means of tube adaptor of 60 mm diameter, which
allows a +2º inclination related to the horizontal.

   OPTICAL ASSEMBLY




    The optical assembly shall include a reflector, a tempered curved glass lens joined
to the reflector with RTV silicone, a die-cast aluminum neck and a plastic socket
canister resistant to high temperatures. The opening system shall be without tools.


    The tempered curved glass lens shall be resistant to thermal and mechanical
shock.

   The reflector shall be one-piece of high purity aluminium to ensure precise and
uniform thickness. The finishing shall have a minimum thickness of 0.8mm and an
overall average reflectance upper to 80%. The reflector finishing shall be made by
means of the process called ALGLAS, i.e., a thin unbreakable glass film covering
(silica almost pure) using chemical processes, which provides high-protection to
corrosion, durability and easy maintenance and cleaning.


   The refractor shall be borosilicate glass lens for achieving the maximum lighting
control. It shall have a minimum thickness transmittance between samples of 1mm at
96%, a dilatation coefficient inside the interval from 0ºC to 300ºC of 35 x10-7 and a
maximum working temperature value of 290ºC. This refractor shall be big size and
would have a side apparent surface maximum value of 0,048 m2, under a vision angle
of 76º with the vertical axis.


   An ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) gasket seals the optical assembly,
and it is mounted into the reflector edge. Its fitting shall be safe and free of
detachments during the maintenance operation and replacement lamp operations. Its
basic characteristics are:


       -   The molecular structure will be closed cells.
       -   The water absorption according to the ASTM-D-1056 or NF-R-99211
           tests, with 127mm of mercury, and passing three minutes it will not be
           greater than 10%.
       -   The permanent compression deformation of the gasket according UNE
           53511-74 will not be greater than 65%.


       The luminaire shall include optical assembly, with integral activated charcoal
filter located on the lampholder fixture. The filter shall absorb, at least the 60% of the
pollutant gases and the suspended solid particles in the air. The test shall use the SO2
gas as a pattern and the maximum particle size shall be 10.

                    M-250A/VT LUMINAIRE

   GENERAL DESCRIPTION


    The luminaire shall be weather resistant and closed (protection degree of IP65 for
the optical assembly and IP43 for the ballast compartment), with and independent

and metal halide lamps up to 250 watts and also low pressure sodium lamps of 35W.
The optical assembly shall remain closed when operating the ballast compartment.
