From: Jerry White, September 26, 2007: FYI to the Pastoral Center. Here is a list of the most recent consumer products that
have been recalled. This list is not intended to be all-inclusive. As a service to employees and their families, I look through
multiple resources and list those recalls that are most likely to affect So Cal. Consumers. Please take the time to review this.

About 1 Million Simplicity Cribs Recalled Due To in Infant Deaths in the Cribs
This is a URGENT Recall Safety Alert. Send or share with Friends & Relatives
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced recall with Simplicity Inc.,
of Reading, Pa., of about 1 million cribs. The drop-side can detach from the crib, which can create a dangerous gap
and lead to the entrapment and suffocation of infants. CPSC is aware of two deaths in Simplicity manufactured cribs
with older style hardware, including a 9-month-old child and a 6-month-old child, where the drop-side was installed
upside down. CPSC is also aware of seven infant entrapments and 55 incidents in these cribs.

CPSC is also investigating the death of a 1-year-old child in a Simplicity crib with newer style hardware, in which the
drop-side was installed upside down. CPSC is warning parents and caregivers to check all Simplicity cribs to make
sure the drop-side is installed right side up.

The drop-side failures result from both the hardware and crib design, which allow consumers to unintentionally install
the drop-side upside down. This, in turn, can weaken the hardware and cause the drop-side to detach from the crib.
When the drop-side detaches, it creates a gap in which infants can become entrapped. CPSC is also aware of two
incidents that occurred when the drop-side was correctly installed with older style hardware.

The recalled Simplicity crib models include: Aspen 3 in 1, Aspen 4 in 1, Nursery-in-a-Box, Crib N Changer Combo,
Chelsea and Pooh 4 in 1. The recall also involves the following Simplicity cribs that used the Graco logo: Aspen 3 in 1,
Ultra 3 in 1, Ultra 4 in1, Ultra 5 in 1, Whitney and the Trio.

The recalled cribs have one of the following model numbers, which can be found on the envelope attached to the
mattress support and on the label attached to the headboard: 4600, 4605, 4705, 5000, 8000, 8324, 8800, 8740, 8910,
8994, 8050, 8750, 8760, and 8996.

The cribs, which were made in China, were sold in department stores, children’s stores and mass merchandisers
nationwide from January 1998 through May 2007 for between $100 and $300.

As an immediate precaution, consumers should check to see if the drop-side is installed right side up. To do this,
check to see that the slightly rounded rail with the decorative groove is installed at the top and the plain rail is on the
bottom. Next, consumers should make sure the drop-side is securely attached to the tracks in all four corners.

             Close-up of a Correctly Installed Drop-side Close-up of an Incorrectly Installed Drop-side
If the drop-side is installed upside down or not securely attached, consumers should stop using the crib immediately.
Incorrect installation can cause permanent damage to the hardware and re-installing the drop-side using the same
hardware is unsafe.

Consumers should check to see if their crib contains the recalled hardware. Recalled hardware has a flexible tab at the
bottom of the lower tracks and the top of the lower tracks are open. Newer hardware, which is not subject to the recall,
has the flexible tab located at the top of the lower track, and a permanent stop at the bottom.

                                                                                                                                   1

NHTSA and American Honda Motor Company Announces
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in cooperation with American Honda Motor Company
announces the following recall to correct a critical deficiency on one of it’s models.

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 07V399000 Mfr's Report Date : AUG 30, 2007

Make / Models : HONDA CIVIC (all models)

Model Years: 2006 and 2007

Component: WHEELS Potential Number Of Cars Affected : 182,756

Summary: On certain vehicles, the wheel speed sensor housing uses an o-ring seal to prevent leakage to or from the
wheel bearing. If assembled improperly, the o-ring may not seal properly allowing water to enter the wheel bearing and
eventually cause damage to the bearing, especially in areas where use of road salt is prevalent. If the driver continues
to drive with this condition it is possible for the wheel bearing to become loose, which could cause the bearing to fail.

Consequence: This could cause a wheel to fall off of the vehicle, possibly resulting in a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the rear abs sensors and wheel bearings for damaged parts and replace them free of
charge. The recall is expected to begin on or about September 17, 2007. Owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-
1009. Notes: Honda recall no. Q56. Customers may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.safercar.gov.

Make/Model: HONDA CIVIC

Model Years: 2006

Component: Exterior Lighting:Brake Lights:switch Potential Number Of Units Affected : 19904

Summary: On certain sedan and hybrid vehicles, during assembly, the telescopic steering column mechanism may
have been over-lubricated with silicone grease. Over time, some of this extra grease may drip on the brake light switch
causing the switch to fail.

Consequence: Failure may result in a loss of brake lights and an increased risk that the vehicle could be struck in
the rear. In addition, a failed brake light switch could prevent shifting the transmission from the park position (vehicles
with an automatic transmission).

Remedy: Dealers will replace the brake light switch and install a protective cover over the switch free of charge. The
recall is expected to begin on or about September 27, 2007. Owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009.

break under certain driving conditions.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the driveshaft free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during September 2007.
Owners may contact Daimler-Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Notes: Daimler-Chrysler recall no. G32. Customers may

Consequence: Driving a vehicle with an unlatched door can result in an unbelted front seat occupant falling out of the
vehicle or being ejected in a crash, causing increased risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will add a secondary retention feature to both front doors. This action will supersede and expand a
previous safety recall (please see 07v-104). The recall is expected to begin during October 2007. Owners may contact
