Second Blessings Children's Consignment Sale is a fundraiser for MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at
StoneBridgeChurch. We sell gently used children's clothing and accessories from newborn to boys and girls size
12, toys, baby equipment, furniture, shoes, bikes, outside toys, children's books, games, and videos.

By Registering as a Seller, You are Agreeing to the Following:

     1.   I will read the Seller Instruction Packet and follow the seller guidelines.
     2.   I will help with the breakdown process on Saturday, March 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and
          volunteer for one shift during the sale if I would like to pick up my unsold items on Saturday. If I
          choose not to help, I agree to allow all of my unsold items to be donated to charity. Sellers working to
          pick up their items are welcome to sort and donate any items they wish. Sellers not at the church from 10
          a.m. to 1:00 p.m. will have their unsold items donated.
     3.   All sale items are subject to further evaluation and may be pulled from the sales floor if they do not meet
          our guidelines such as stains, tears, and ratings on movies and games.

Registration Begins November 1, 2010, and Ends February 20, 2011 or When our
Maximum Number of Sellers is Reached.

To register as a Second Blessings Seller, please visit our website Second Blessings. With the online system (My
Consignment Manager) you can register, volunteer, print bar-coded tags and manage your entire inventory. You
will know soon after the sale what items sold full price, what items sold half-price, and your total proceeds. The
online system is very easy to use and tags are free.

Why be a Second Blessings Seller?

     •    Who has the time to pull together a yard sale these days or to lug all of your great merchandise to the
          local consignment store, just to have to take it back home?
     •    With Second Blessings, you decide the price, and then, you make 70% on the sale of your items.

   •   Our proceeds go to great causes. Proceeds fund meeting costs, resources for MOPS moms, and the
       MOPPETS children’s program. We hope to benefit the community by selling inexpensive, good quality
       children’s items, to benefit consignors by providing a convenient way to consign their items, and to reach
       local mothers of preschoolers with information about MOPS. For more information on MOPS

How do I Become a Second Blessings Seller?

   1. Register to be a Seller. Online Seller Registration opens December 1, 2010 and closes February 20,
   2. Read the Seller Instruction Packet (as you are doing now) and follow it carefully.
   3. Gather your items. Clean out your house, garage, attic and backyard for all of the children’s items
      newborn through size 12 that you don’t need or use anymore.
   4. Enter, Print and Tag your items using the online bar coding system.
   5. Volunteer to work before, during or after the sale to claim your unsold items. There is no need to
      volunteer if you choose to donate your items.
   6. Drop- off your tagged items. You must pay a$6 per 150 items Seller Fee at drop- off.
   7. Shop!
   8. Pick up your unsold items. If you choose to pick up your unsold items, you must volunteer from 10:00
      a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the sale. You may choose to donate your unsold items to charity if
      you do not wish to volunteer on Saturday.
   9. Wait for your check that will arrive in the mail within 2-3 weeks after the sale.

While we make our best efforts to secure your merchandise, Second Blessings is not
responsible for lost, missing, stolen or damaged items following the sale. We do not keep or
store any items that are not picked up following the sale. We are unable to compensate for any
lost, missing, stolen or damaged items.

We may ask for your help at check-in time or your items may not be accepted if you have not
followed these instructions.


   •   You may have up to 150 items per $6.00 registration fee.
   •   All unsold items not picked up by 12:00 pm on Saturday will be donated. If you choose to pick up your
       unsold items, you must help with tear down from 10am – 11pm on Saturday of the sale, plus volunteer for
       one other volunteer shift during the sale.
   •   For items with multiple separate pieces that cannot be pinned, taped, or bagged together and are being
       sold as a set, put a tag on EACH piece. Fill out the first tag as normal but include “1 of X”, where X is the
       number of pieces. On all the other tags, write your seller number, the description, and “2 of X”, “3 of X”,
       etc. DO NOT write the price on any tag except the first. Only use multiple tags for separate pieces; do not
       use multiple tags for items that are attached together.
   •   When entering items online for tagging, do not run the item descriptions to the very edge of the
       description box. Also, do not use all capital letters in your item descriptions.
   •   Printing Tags:
            o MUST USE 60#, 65# or 67# cardstock paper. NO dark colors. WHITE is the BEST choice. No
                regular paper. No fuzzy or textured paper (because the barcodes will bleed).
            o Cardstock is a heavy paper that can be pinned to clothing and other items. It can be found at any
                store that sells paper i.e. Wal-Mart, Target, Office Max and Office Depot. If you do not use
                cardstock, your tags may tear off and be lost.
            o Must use a printer with normal toner (no dot matrix printers). Ink jet printers are preferable.

             o   Do not place tape over the barcodes.
             o   Must use NORMAL or DRAFT print setting – BEST quality is too dark and causes the
                 barcodes to bleed – you should test one page of tags and make sure the barcodes are
                 crisp and clear and not bleeding.
             o   Make sure that if you have a color printer, you have selected “Black Cartridge Only” from the
                 printing properties screen. Otherwise, the tags can appear purple and blurry.
             o   You must be logged into the Second Blessings web site at
             o   If you are logged in to the Second Blessing site you will not need a print code. However, if you
                 are asked for one the print code for Second Blessings is PL1752532

We will not accept any items on the CPSC recall list.


   •     Clothes are to be in first-class condition: no tears, missing buttons, stains, fading or flaws. Items not in
         first-class condition will not be accepted.
   •     No hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings.
   •     Please sew loose hems. Make sure zippers, buttons and snaps work properly and are fully buttoned and
   •     Clothes must be hung on hangers with the hook pointing to the left and the tag safety-pinned to the right
         shoulder. (Make a question mark with the hanger.)
   •     When selling more than one item in a bundle, the items MUST be attached with safety pins. The items
         can easily become misplaced if they fall off of the hanger. We will not be held responsible for any items
         not properly secured. Remember to indicate on the tag how many pieces are in the set.
   •     Hangers will not be returned.
   •     We accept children sizes newborn to boys and girls size 12.
   •     No underwear.
   •     Spending a little extra time getting your items ready will mean more money for you. Items that are
         cleaned and ironed, all pieces attached, and loose threads clipped, sell much better.
   •     We cannot accept items not properly labeled.
   •     Sort your clothes by gender and size before tagging for best efficiency.
   •     When dropping off your items before the sale, the clothing items should be grouped by gender and size.
   •     DO NOT use wooden clothes pins to hang your clothes. The clothes will fall off the hanger and be lost.
   •     Investing in child size hangers when on sale will help clothing look better and sell faster.
   •     Wire hangers can be used to hang your clothing and can be obtained at the drycleaners for free.


   •     Only like-new shoes will be accepted.
   •     Shoes must be sealed in plastic bags. The sales tag should be placed in the bag with the shoes with
         barcode facing out and taped closed.


   •     Onesies, gowns, socks, infant sleepers and other small items must be sealed in plastic bags or hung
         nicely on a hanger. The sales tag should be taped on the outside upper right corner of the bag.
   •     Consider putting several small items in one bag, using one sales tag. Be sure to indicate the number of
         pieces on the sales tag.
   •     No cloth diapers or burp rags will be accepted.


   •     No stuffed animals will be accepted.

    •    No recalled toys will be accepted. Please refer to CPSC for a listing of all recalled items.
    •    Tape tag securely to the toy.
    •    Toys must be clean.
    •    Toys and games must have all pieces. Toys with pieces should be sealed in zip lock bags and bags
         should be taped shut with the tag taped to the outside of the bag.
    •    Small toys may be combined in zipper lock bags and sold as one item.
    •    Toys that require batteries MUST have working batteries in them. Upon check-in, you will be asked to
         demonstrate that it works.
    •    We discourage the sale of monster toys and toy weapons, as well as any item that may be offensive or
         frightening to children.
    •    Large toys and outdoor play equipment must be clean, and free of dirt and water. They must include all


    •    Books (children's, pregnancy, and child-rearing titles) will be accepted.
    •    Videos and DVDs rated G and PG will be accepted.
    •    We will NOT accept Nintendo Systems, Sega Systems or any other game system, nor will we accept
         games for these systems.


    •    Furniture, bedding and nursery decor items must be clean, have all parts and be in proper working order.
    •    All furniture must be completely assembled.
    •    Furniture with missing pieces or obvious damage will not be accepted.
    •    Lamps must have light bulbs and have the cord folded and secured with a rubber band or twist tie.
    •    Attach the tag securely to the item.
    •    Pictures of bedding on a bed really help sell these items.
    •    All Cribs must meet all CPSC safety requirements. CPSC crib details

Sports Equipment:

    •    Must be clean.
    •    Like-new and gently used.

Baby Equipment:

    •    All items must be clean, have all parts and be in proper working condition. If battery-operated, items must
         have batteries in them. All items must be completely assembled. Damaged equipments will not be
    •    Fabric items and car seats must be washed and clean.
    •    Car seats must be date stamped 2005 or newer.
    •    Baby monitors must have batteries.
    •    Baby toys, bottles, breast pumps, etc., must be clean. Pacifiers will not be accepted.


This guide will give you tips and ideas for pricing items so that you are putting money in your pocket and not
taking your items back home. You are certainly welcome to price your items as you see best, but here are a few
things to keep in mind when considering your pricing:

    •    Lower priced items sell more quickly.
    •    Consider marking your items for reduction on Saturday.

   •   Items sell best at about 1/4 of the original retail price. For example, a Tommy Hilfiger jacket that sells for
       $40-50 new will sell quickly for $10. However, a non-designer jacket will sell well at $2-5.
   •   High quality shoes may sell well for $8-10, whereas Target, Wal-Mart or Payless shoes should be priced
       lower. Remember shoes must be in "like new" condition.
   •   Pack-n-Plays sell between $20-40 depending upon condition, model and year.
   •   Newborn basic layette items should be priced inexpensively to sell quickly. Consider putting several of
       these items in one bag.
   •   Items must be priced at $1 or above, in half-dollar increments (For example: $1.50, $2.00, $2.50). Lower
       priced items should be grouped together and sold as one item.
   •   Searching craigslist and eBay are also good ways to research pricing.

Don’t forget to volunteer in order to shop early on Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.


Seller drop-off is Wednesday, March 2, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
    • Limited drop-off times are available Tuesday, March 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Seller Check List

       My hangers are facing the correct direction (hook pointing to the left).
       Snaps are snapped,Zippers are zipped, and buttons are buttoned.
       I have checked my items for any stains or defects.
       Tags are pinned correctly and attached to the right side of shirt/pants.
       Safety pin is above the Seller number and secure.
       Items are grouped by gender and size.
       Toys requiring batteries have working batteries and are in good working condition.
       All items are priced at $1.00 or above and in half-dollar increments.

Without our wonderful volunteers, we would be unable to coordinate such an exciting event! Thank you for taking
the time to consider helping us with our sale! Second Blessings offers a wide variety of volunteering opportunities!
If you are an expectant mom or have special needs, please let us know. Second Blessings has clerical style
duties which require little to no standing. Please indicate this when registering so we can let you know when these
options are available. Feel free to volunteer your husband as well!

Registering to volunteer is easy. If you are already a registered Seller, login to your account at and choose "volunteer" on the menu bar. If you are not a Seller,
follow these steps.

    •   Go to the Second Blessings Registration Page ( and follow
        the easy instructions. (Yes, it refers to "internet tagging" - this is the right page.)
    •   Create an account.
    •   Verify that account through your email.
    •   Login at the Second Blessings Registration Page.
    •   Click "Register Me as a Volunteer."

Volunteers must be willing to provide Second Blessings with at least 3 hours of their time. You do not have to
consign with Second Blessings to take advantage of volunteer opportunities and to receive early shopping
benefits. Early shopping is on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm. Please take a moment to review our volunteer policy
below prior to committing to a shift.

Volunteer Policy:Please thoughtfully consider the commitment before requesting a shift.

If you volunteer to work a shift and do not follow through with your commitment, you will lose your privileges as a
volunteer. Volunteers who miss their scheduled shift after the volunteer pre-sale, and who take advantage of the
early shopping privileges will be assessed a $10.00 early shopping fee, and will not be permitted to register as a
volunteer for future sales. This fee will be deducted from your sale funds.

If you find it necessary to call and cancel, or to reschedule your shift, please do so 24-hours in advance of your
shift. Volunteers who do not call will not be allowed to register as a volunteer for the next season's sale. This
policy prevents people from taking advantage of the volunteer benefits, and then failing to work their scheduled

Childcare Available for Volunteers: Childcare is provided for volunteers during their shift only. You must
contact SB Mops to secure a spot for your child. The following times are available for childcare:

Friday, March 5          9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.

What if I Just Want to Donate my Items?

If you would like to donate items to our sale rather than sell items, the Second Blessings Consignment Sale
appreciates and accepts donations of children's items, clothing, equipment, toys, layette, and maternity clothing.
Please be sure the items are in good condition. You do not need to tag the items to be donated.

Donated items are accepted at any time. StoneBridge MOPS will receive 100% of the sales price for donated
