BURLCO COUNCIL ON WOMEN WINS STATE AWARD Mentoring Award Recognizes Reach for the Stars Program
The Burlington County Advisory Council on Women received a state award Tuesday for its annual Reach for the Stars program which introduces girls to alternative career choices by bringing them together with professionals in various nontraditional fields. The Council received the award from the NJ Division on Women for “Outstanding Recognition of Service to Women by a Community Organization.” The awards were presented at a luncheon at Douglas College in New Brunswick. Freeholder Dawn Marie Addiego, who serves as liaison to the Advisory Council, congratulated the Council; especially Reach for the Stars Co-Chairs Marilyn Williamson and San Lewis-Payne, and the many participants. “Reach for the Stars began over 10 years ago and continues to grow in scope and popularity with young women from high schools throughout Burlington County who attend workshops and hear successful, inspiring speakers,” Addiego said.
