DEPARTS: December 5, 2011
Day 1 – Come along as we journey southward through Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and into North
Carolina where our accommodations for the next two nights will be at the Holiday Inn Biltmore West in
Asheville. We’ll meet our native guide when we arrive and dinner (included) will be at the hotel tonight.
Day 2 – After a full breakfast (included) at the hotel, we’ll enjoy a professionally guided tour of Asheville,
highlighting the history, homes and hot-spots of this "City of Surprises." We’ll enjoy all major points of interest
including the diverse Montford Historic District, Art Deco-rich downtown Asheville, the artsy and edgy River
Arts District and Grove Park Inn. At the Grove Park Inn, each year, gingerbread artists from around the
country, both young and “not-so-young”, take part in their annual competition. With these fanciful entries on
display throughout the resort, you’ll enjoy the sweet smell of this holiday treat wherever you go. Lunch is
(included) at the Grove Park Inn, and enjoy some free time for shopping at the Grove Arcade, with the
opportunity to view many more of the Gingerbread Houses that have been on display at the Grove Park Inn.
We’ll return to the hotel, freshen up, and depart for Biltmore Estate. A spectacular holiday experience awaits
you at Biltmore Estate, George Vanderbilt’s 250-room French Renaissance chateau, 8,000 acres of forest,
farmland, and pleasure gardens, and the most visited winery in America. Later, we’ll enjoy a candlelight tour of
Biltmore with the sound of choral voices in the Winter Garden with the pipe organ lending its graceful notes in
the Banquet Hall. Dinner (included) is at the Deerpark Restaurant in the Biltmore Estate.
Day 3 – After a full breakfast (included) at the hotel, we’ll depart for Pigeon Forge, we’ll meet our local guide,
and drop our bags at the Country Inn and Suites our accommodations for the next two nights. We’ll have some
free time for shopping and then we’re off to Country Tonite. Country Tonite is the best entertainment value in
the Smokies! Experience this high-energy full-scale production located in a 1500 seat multi-million dollar
theatre. In its tenth year, Country Tonite continues to provide the best in quality entertainment with singing,
dancing, comedy, gospel, patriotic, and more filling this two-hour show. From old country to new country, their
country theater has it all. Dinner (included) tonight is at the Smith Family Theatre. The Smokies’ best known
family of entertainers is beginning their fifth season at the Smith Family Dinner Theater in Pigeon Forge,
Tennessee. Charlie, Jim, and Charlie Bob Smith – five time winners of Best Show in the Smokies, will entertain
us with a variety show packed full of music and comedy. We can look forward to an outstanding blend of
classic country music, heartfelt gospel music, oldies rock-n-roll music, clean family comedy, and
impersonations of famous stars you have to see to believe!
Day 4 – After a deluxe continental breakfast (included) at the hotel, we’ll enjoy a tour of the Great Smoky
Mountains. Ridge upon ridge of endless forest straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee in
Great Smoky Mountains National Park. World renowned for the diversity of its plant and animal life, and the
beauty of its ancient mountains, this is America's most visited national park. Next we’ll visit Gatlinburg for
some shopping and browsing. Gatlinburg is considered the "Heart of the Smoky Mountains" and sits at the
main entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Later, we’ll travel to Dollywood. The best
Christmas memories aren’t wrapped in pretty paper; they come from the heart and last a lifetime. Babes in
Toyland, 8 Spectacular Christmas Shows, Tinker the Talking Christmas Tree, Lighted Christmas Parade,
Santa’s Workshop, Christmas Pyramid, Old World Arts, Delicious Holiday Pastries – Victorian carolers sing
songs of the season against a backdrop of 3.3 million lights throughout the theme park. For a holiday steeped in
tradition, we’ll enjoy Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas. Tonight dinner (included) is at Dollywood.
Day 5 – After a deluxe continental breakfast (included) at the hotel, we’ll board our motor coach with many
fond memories of an Old Fashioned Smoky Mountain Christmas and spectacular Christmas light displays.
