TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF STAFF MEMBERSHIP VIA PAYROLL
We will endeavour to provide the best possible service to members and to deliver the commitments made as part of our strategy. However, subject to written
notification, the management team reserves the right to amend the Membership Terms and Conditions in light of changing circumstances and/or to ensure the
health and safety of members.

General Membership Conditions
Membership is personal to you: it cannot be assigned or transferred to another person. If you lend your membership card to another person we will terminate
your membership.
If you forget to bring your valid membership card, we reserve the right to refuse admission or charge an entry fee.
In the event of loss or theft, a replacement Staff Card can be obtained from the Information Centre Market Square. Replacement Staff Sports cards are available
from the Sport & Recreation Office for a payment of £5.
Staff payroll membership conditions (in addition to the above general conditions)
Deductions will be made from your salary on a monthly basis, deductions will continue for the duration of your employment and will cease either when you leave
the University or you complete a cancellation form.
Members of Staff who wish to withdraw from the scheme must notify the Sport & Recreation office of their intention to cancel in writing, giving at least one
month's notice. The member's membership card must be handed back by the last day of the calendar month to cease subscription.

The Sports and Recreation service reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of payroll memberships, including price, and will inform payroll
subscribers o f the change giving a minimum of one months notice.
General Conditions
Sporting Dress and Footwear - Appropriate sporting dress (including upper torso clothing) and footwear must be worn at all times. User(s) are required to
change into non marking trainers before play. No black soled trainers are permitted. No studded or bladed footwear is permitted on artificial pitches.
Fitness Suite User(s) - All user(s) of the fitness suite must be aged 16 or over. All user(s) of the fitness suite are required to complete a health questionnaire
and an induction programme. User(s) with a pre-existing medical condition or medical condition diagnosed after joining should not use the fitness suite without
express agreement of their GP or hospital; any doubts should be made known to the Manager. User(s) are advised to bring a towel with them on each visit and
in ‘peak’ times limit their time to 20 minutes on any one piece of equipment. User(s) of the free weights should not train alone and if required, should request a
‘spotter’ from Reception.
You must not:
- Abuse the equipment or facilities of the University. Any wilful, negligent or deliberate damage to University property must be paid for.
- Behave in a disorderly, violent or rude manner or in a manner, which causes or is likely to cause offence or distress to other Members, Guests or staff.
- Bring alcoholic or intoxicating liquor, narcotics, or other mood altering substances, or consume them at, the University’s facilities.
- Book facilities on behalf of others or allow others to book facilities using your identity or membership card.
- Book a facility and fail to attend the booking
- Book a facility on behalf of a group and fail to attend the booking yourself.
We reserve the right to refuse admission, ask you or your guest to leave, or terminate or suspend your membership with immediate effect, if we reasonably
believe that you or your guest is in breach of any of the above. In the case of suspension, this will normally be until the full cost of the facility hire at non-member
rates, or of equipment replacement is paid, as applicable
The Loss or Damage to Personal Property - The University does not accept responsibility or liability for any damage to or loss of any property or articles or
things whatsoever, placed or left in or on the Centre or any part thereof by the user(s).
Injury - The University shall not be liable for any personal injury and/or consequential loss, including fatal injury and consequential loss sustained by any user(s)
of the Centre how ever such injury or loss is sustained, except where such injury or loss is directly caused by the negligence of the University or its employees.
Lack or inadequacy of supervision of the use of any equipment, amenity or facility of the Centre shall be deemed not to be negligence on the part of the
University or its employees unless such supervision has previously been expressly arranged with the Manager of the Centre
Breach of Condition – In the event of any breach of these conditions the user(s) may be required by the Manager to leave the Centre and will forfeit the charge
paid by such user(s) for entry to or use of the Centre. Such action shall be without prejudice to any rights which the University may have against such user(s) by
virtue of these.
Alterations of Conditions - The University reserves the right without prior notice at any time to alter or amend the whole or any of these conditions.
Car Parking - There are a limited number of car parking spaces at the Sports Centre. User(s) parking before 6pm must pay and display. Indiscriminate parking
which blocks or hinders emergency access / prevents parking by disabled drivers /inconveniences other car users may result in a parking fine.
First Aid - All accidents/incidents must be reported to a member of the Centre staff. Centre staff will complete a confidential accident & first aid report and
user(s) are required to comply with requests for information to complete this report.
Emergency situation - On hearing the fire alarm all user(s) must leave the Centre. Facility staff will direct you to the nearest assembly point and only on their
instruction can you return into the Centre.
Disclaimer
It is the member's responsibility to follow Health & Safety notices and the instructions of Staff.
The University is unable to accept liability for any loss, damage to or theft of your personal property or that of your guests, whilst on University premises. Where
applicable to the activity you must have read and understood the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (ParQ) advice and agree to seek medical advice if
your current status changes.
We reserve the right to:
• Vary, revoke or add to these Rules.
• Adjust the availability of certain facilities on a temporary basis for the general purpose of cleaning, decorating, essential repairs, maintenance of equipment,
special functions (exams) & holidays.
• Increase or decrease the level of Fees from time to time.
