Porsche Club of America- Diablo Region Wash and Shine Helpful Tips for Entrants
Mission Statement- Have Lots and Lots of Fun!!!! Secondary Purpose- spend way too much time cleaning the car so judges (i.e. auditors) will find specks of dirt, smudges, and lint that no sane person would ever see. Who else but Porsche owners would pay $20 to have a judge say your car isn’t clean enougth! Judging Criteria – The Rules of the Game 1. The Diablo Region’s Wash & Shine will be to judge both the exterior and interior of the car for cleaniness. Wear and tear is accpetable. Original equipment requirements will not be judged, that is, after-market wheels are acceptable but they will be judged for cleaniness. Judges will be touching, poking, feeling, and looking at, all areas excepct as noted below. If they can touch it, it better be clean and lint / dust free! Judges will have 3 minutes to judge the interior and exterior concurrently. Scoring deductions will be 1 point for each infraction type. There is a total of 100 points for exterior and interior of car. Bonus points for cars over 50,000 miles. 2. Exterior- Maximum of 60 points Items not being judged are: • Fender wells • Underside of car • Engine compartment • Trunk 3. Interior of the car- Maximum of 40 points Items not being judged are: • Behind the dash Tips for the entrant: 4. Exterior• Ensure there are no water spots the paint, windows, mirrors, and headlights • Clean outside of tires and wheelnuts 5. Interior• No dust nor lint anywhere a judge can see or touch • Grease should be clean, white, or clear. Or wipe grease completely off so there is none for judges to touch.
