Plan Commission – October 13, 2010 1. Street Renaming – Sunset Lane - At its meeting of October 13, 2010, the Plan Commission considered a request from staff to rename the new private drive that will serve the new O’Reilly auto Parts and Discount Tire located in the southwest corner of the Spring City corporate Center, just north of Sunset Drive, to a name less similar to other streets in the area. The Plan Commission recommends that the street be named Spring City Lane (pvt.). C. Finance Committee – October 12, 2010 D. Building & Grounds Committee – October 4, 2010 1. The Building and Grounds Committee recommends allowing Carroll University to purchase, place and maintain in-street pedestrian crossing signs similar to those used in front of the County Complex for use on N. East Ave. at Wright St. and at the mid block crosswalk south of Wright St. April 1 to November 1. Portable signs are to be used at other times. (Unanimous) 2. The Building and Grounds Committee recommends approval of the request to close the canopy area of Municipal Parking Lot 1 on November 6, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm. provided that the organizer: a. reserve any needed barricades with the City Garage; b. pick up, set up, dismantle and return barricades to City Garage; c. post “No Parking” in any stalls to be occupied. Obtain cardboard signs from Police Department; d. obtain written permission of the Board of Public Works if tent stakes will be used (unanimous) E. Ordinance & License Committee – October 11, 2010 1. Third Reading – an ordinance establishing and regulating the salaries of elective officers of the City of Waukesha, Wisconsin (Salary Ordinance – Municipal Judge). b. Third Reading – an ordinance establishing and regulating the salaries of elective officers of the City of Waukesha, Wisconsin (Salary Ordinance – Attorney). 3. Discussion and recommendation: please consider approving a revision to Chapter 6.12 of the Municipal Code, “Sidewalks; Removal of Snow, Etc.” The revision increases the amount charged to delinquent property owners from $1.00 to $2.00 per front foot to cover the cost when the city’s snow removal contractor is required to clear the sidewalk. Approve Contract Amendment The Board of Public Works recommends that the Common Council approve Contract Amendment No. 5 to the Three Party Contract between the City of Waukesha, Wisconsin Department of Transportation and R.A. Smith National, Inc. for the E. St. Paul Ave. & E. North St. (Madison St. to W. Moreland Blvd.) Road Construction/Resurfacing Project. The Amendment increases the contract by $24,968.00 to a new total of $421,713.00. The City’s cost share is 25%. 2. Approve Amendment to Project Agreement The Board of Public Works recommends that the Common Council approve the State/Municipal Project Agreement for the E. St. Paul Ave./E. North St. from Madison St. to W. Moreland Blvd. Road Improvement Project. 3. Approve Contract Amendment The Board of Public Works recommends that the Common Council approve Contract Amendment No. 1 with UPI Construction, Inc. for the Columbia Ave. Water Main Relay and Asphalt Street Reconstruction. 4. Approve Revised Relocation Order and Right-of-Way (Row) Plat The Board of Public Works recommends that the Common Council approve the revised Relocation Order and ROW Plat for the E. St. Paul Ave./E.
