Air Works India will now bring convenience of opting for Honeywell Flight Planning and Data Link subscriptions through its Service Centers as a referral partner. An authorized service center for Honeywell, we endeavor to provide maintenance and service convenience to all our customers. Honeywell Flight Support Services (FSS) have met the Flight Support needs of customers for safe and efficient operations across the world for over 20 years. Packaged to be a 'One Stop Shop' for Services catering to Business & General Aviation operators, it addresses flight support needs comprehensively in all three segments of flight through its offering. In the Business Jets category Cessna, Dassault, Embraer and Gulfstream are some aircrafts that use this Management System.

General Aviation MRO (GA-MRO)
Nose Landin gear replacement on falcon 900 Ex Easy Air Works engineers at the GA-MRO base in Mumbai recently performed a Nose landing gear replacement exercise on a Falcon 900 Ex Easy aircraft. A Nose Landing Gear is a standard two wheel gear assembly, which absorbs take-off and landing forces of the aircraft. The gear also steers the aircraft and supports the weight of the forward section of the aircraft while the aircraft is on the ground. Major components of the nose landing gear that were serviced/ replaced by Air Works included: a) Shock strut with integral axle to attach the wheels and brakes Steering Actuator fittings Hydraulic and Electrical systems
b) Top and bottom torsion links c) e) d) Trunnion Mounting components Process The shock strut is the main part of the nose landing gear assembly; it absorbs the landing forces of the aircraft and transmits the vertical loads to the structure of the aircraft. The trunnion mounting components permit load transfer from shock strut through the trunnion's to the internal structure of the aircraft. The torsion links keep the radial alignment of the inner cylinder of the shock strut and the steering collar. The steering actuator fittings attach the rod end of the steering actuators to the steering collar and by hydraulic pressure steer the aircraft.

New inductions into the Air Works family: Mr Todd Hattaway, Vice-President – Maintenance (Mid-April) Todd will be responsible for all the outstations of the GAMRO, as well as working on projects for the Airline MRO. He has extensive experience, having worked 17 years in various technical / contracts / operations capacities at Delta Airlines (stationed in the US, Europe and Latin America), followed by 3 years as Director and later VP Maintenance / Quality at Flight Options, accountable for the operation of a fleet of 140+ business aviation aircraft and 650 maintenance personnel at 7 locations in the USA. Ms Prarthana Kher, Head – Human Resources Prarthana Kher joins us as Head of HR based out of our corporate office in Gurgaon. She joins us from `The Mobile Store' which is the largest chain of Multi Brand / Service retail outlet. Prior to that Prarthana has worked in the UK with a Recruitment company. As Head of HR in Air Works, Prarthana will be entrusted with the task of aligning the Policies, Processes and Practices of the three verticals. Propose the most beneficial Compensation and Benefits Compensation structure both from the point of view of the employee and the Tax Regime in place. Initiate the process for Staff Appraisals and non technical training.
Airline MRO (AMRO)
The Air Works AMRO Headquarters at Hosur, near Bangalore recently received provisional approval accorded by DGCA for heavy maintenance of Boeing 737 series aircraft including the Hosur runway, which has been newly extended to 7000ft. x 150ft.The runway is awaiting certification to Cat 3C from DGCA. AMRO has also completed the EASA approval requirements and awaiting audit of the facility by end of May 2009. This is important for the airworthiness standards for aircraft, safety standards for organisations and requirements for maintenance and maintenance training organisations.
Jet airways had a few meetings with Air Works for comprehensive maintenance proposal for line maintenance. Their operational team visited the facilities at Hosur to inspect the runway and Hangar for readiness prior to sending airplanes for maintenance. Kingfisher airlines have also shown keen interest to work jointly with Air Works for carrying out C checks on their fleet of ATRs.
