My name is Amanda Holdgate and I will be producing this news letter every month and working as the new Activities Coordinator. My main role is to plan and implement activities appropriate to residents needs and requests. To assist Home Manager to organise fundraising events. A programme of activities will be listed within the news letter. There will be a different activity each day within the Home. There may be a small cost for some of our activities, such as outings and if we bring someone into the home. Funds can be raised by holding our own fete, raffles and card making sessions. Residents, staff and relatives can participate. Other events also will be held. Friends of Polventon Starting July we will be holding a meeting for all relatives , friends and staff, who would be interested in helping with the Activities and Fundraising for our beautiful home. The meeting will also give myself a chance to get to know you all and discuss new and old ideas to help with these activities. We are arranging to participate in this years St Keverne’s Carnival. Ideas would be appreciated. Other events which have been mentioned were our own Fetes, Day Trips and Craft afternoons. An important issue is to include the community and recruiting new volunteers. Date: Wednesday 1st July . Time: 10am. Computer The room next to the kitchen is going to be refurbished to hold our Computer . This will enable the residents to use the Internet, email and webcam facilities. Many of our residents will find great pleasure contacting and seeing their friends and family. Staff will also have use of the computer which will help them with their work courses. The room can also be used for many other activities such as craft work and painting. This will all happen in the near future. Gardening.
