Re: CVB Accreditation
For Immediate Release:
Southern WV CVB Receives Perfect Score
The Southern West Virginia Convention & Visitors Bureau (SWVCVB) received
accreditation for the 2009 – 2012 period by the West Virginia Association of CVB’s on
Monday, September 21st at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism, Snowshoe, WV.
The SWVCVB was commended by the Association for its dedication to the highest
standards and commitment to excellence.
The plaque was presented by the West Virginia Tourism Commission to Doug Maddy,
CEO/President and staff members.
“We are proud to not only get re-accredited but to have achieved a perfect score.” said
Doug Maddy. “It is wonderful when your efforts are commended by the industry.”
The West Virginia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus believes CVBs
benefit from the accreditation process, as it establishes them as credible, effective
partners with their public/private funding sources and the tourism industry as a whole.
The bureaus are scored on their structure, operational info, marketing and
communication, and continuing education.
The SWVCVB is a destination marketing organization representing Raleigh, Mercer,
Fayette, Summers, McDowell, Monroe, Nicholas, Wyoming and Greenbrier counties.
