Prayer Fellowship Letter
The close of the academic year is always filled with great energy, excitement and expectation. Seniors in particular are excited and eager to begin the next phase of their life’s journey. At the end of May they were each joined by family and friends as the college community came together for a celebratory Baccalaureate service and Commencement exercise. The faculty, too, were excited as they watched those they have diligently taught and mentored now equipped to pursue new professional and educational opportunities. As president, I am excited and prayerfully thankful that Trinity is sending articulate, Christ-centered leaders into the world and into a variety of professions who are primed to make a bold statement of their Christian faith. They will witness in word and deed to the Gospel’s call for peace, redemptive justice and salvation that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Knowing Trinity’s graduates are stepping into a dynamic world, a world of rapid and dynamically complex and sometimes bewildering change, I invite you to join me in faithfully praying for each of them. Gracious God, thank you for nurturing and sustaining the graduates of Trinity’s class of 2009. They have embraced Your Word, and now go into Your broader world to witness to the salvation that comes through faith in Your son, Jesus. Be their faithful companion through all their days, and embolden them to continue to study Your Word and to witness for You and Your son in all they do and say. Prayer Requests & Praises
1. Prayer of healing and strength for former student, Krista Nielsen (’92). After experiencing health problems for the past 20 years, she now has the bone marrow disease Aplastic Anemia. 2. Prayer for long time friends of the college Stan and Dagny Sollie, as they settle into their new home in Carlsbad, CA. May they find comfort and every blessing, surrounded by family and new friends. 3. Please continue to pray for Eric Hanson (’95), former student, as he continues to battle advanced stage brain cancer. Eric is married to Biblical Studies Chair, Beth Elness-Hanson (‟90). 4. Prayer for Rhoda Christian (’67) for strength and recovery from her operation and health issues. 5. The Admissions Department personnel, Pamela Renn, Anna Fevergeon, Kimberlee Richards, Ester Sihite, and Jennifer Christensen, would appreciate prayer for our prospective students and their decision to join our student body in the Fall semester. They would also appreciate prayer for wisdom in connecting the right students to Trinity. 6. Continued prayers for the presidential search committee. Pray for wisdom, discernment and agreement for the team, and that the Lord would lead them to the right candidate.

7. Pray for our 2009 graduates who are applying to graduate school and seminaries or applying for jobs, that they will have fulfilling and rewarding options. 8. Prayer for graduating student Kelly Bickel that she continues to use her gifts in reaching out to youth, especially young women – whether through cooking with them and for them, or simply in listening to them. 9. Prayer for graduating student Lori Cavender who continues to inspire others in seeking to learn more about their faith and serve the risen Lord. 10. Prayer for graduating student Kelly Gulberg that as she exercises her gift of servanthood, her passion for music would also flourish and minister to many. 11. Prayer for graduating student Dustin Hamren that with his strong faith he would find a place to expand his ability of ministry with at-risk youth. 12. Prayer for graduating student Sara Harris that her thoughtful ways and the leadership abilities we’ve seen in her Praise and Prayer ministry would find a place of service. 13. Prayer for graduating student Kayla Hendrickson that she be blessed in her new work of assisting those conquering their addiction to smoking. 14. Prayer for graduating student Aubrye Jacques that her deep commitment to little ones might bear fruit someday as a kindergarten classroom teacher. 15. Prayer for graduating student Jerome Jefferson that he might continue to use his gifts for communicating, humor and helping others as witness to his faith. 16. Prayer for graduating student Patrick Joiner that God would bless him in using his gifts for youth ministry, particularly in his internship in adoption services. 17. Prayer for graduating student Katrina Jones that she would use her insight and experience in the preschool where she works presently. 18. Prayer for graduating student Alisha Karel that God might allow her to use abilities to reach out to children of diverse backgrounds. 19. Prayer for graduating student Alisha Klaassen that she continue to demonstrate leadership in the schools she oversees now, and as she considers graduate studies. 20. Prayer for graduating student Karin Larsen that there might be opportunities for her to share her unique combination of faith, music, drama and dance. 21. Prayer for graduating student Joel Metschke that his sincerity and great gifts in connecting with little ones might lead to an enriching ministry. 22. Prayer for graduating student Michelle Morrison that her experience, insights and commitment to serving little ones might bear fruit in each of their lives. 23. Prayer for graduating student Stacie Spencer that God would place her unique combination of heart and leadership in positions that allow her to live out her faith. 24. Prayer for graduating student Kelly Stocker that her sincerity and passion for youth be empowered by God and shared where it can make the most difference. 25. Prayer for graduating student Breann Sweitzer that her experience in working with Romanian orphanages and her insights as a teacher would help enlighten many others. 26. Prayer for graduating student Casey Tinnin that whether he gets a job and works or goes on to graduate study he will use his ability to witness joyfully. 27. Prayer for graduating student Tristian Tyler, one of the first two Psychology major graduates, to find God’s place of service in using the knowledge and experience she has acquired along with her passion for child psychology. 28. Prayer for graduating student Katie Van Beek that her commitment to reaching out to youth in the church setting will be rewarded with a place of service. 29. Prayer for graduating student Emily Vernon with her sincerity and ample abilities in writing might find the perfect place to exercise these skills. 30. Prayer for graduating student Bryant Williams that his commitment and interest in outdoor ministry, youth, theatre and sound will find many avenues in which to serve the Lord.
