SENTINEL POLICY – Summary of cover
Important – you should read this

This is a summary of the policy and does not contain the full terms and conditions of the cover, which can be
found in the policy booklet(s). It is important that you read the policy booklet(s) and schedule carefully when
you receive them. One policy booklet covers all sections of this policy other than the Travel and Family Legal
Protection which is covered by separate policy booklets. The latter policy booklets are provided only where
these sections are insured. The optional Working from Home section is covered by an endorsement, which is
provided only when this section is insured.

Type of Insurance and Cover

The Alan Boswell Sentinel Policy is a multi-section home insurance policy. All sections are optional except that
you must select either Buildings or Contents. Sections are provided, where selected and shown on your policy
schedule, for:

    • Buildings (the structure of your home)
    • Contents (the contents of your home plus other related cover)
    • Personal Belongings (the personal items you take away from the home)
    • Caravan (your touring caravan)
    • Small Craft (your small boat)
    • Family Legal Protection (the cost of specified personal legal actions)
(Some of the covers provided are optional – any you have selected will be shown on your policy schedule)

Details of the key features of each section you may select are listed in the following pages.

Applicable to all sections
General Conditions – you must comply with these. They include your duty to take reasonable precautions
to prevent loss. They explain the actions you must take as soon as you are aware of
                          a possible claim.

General Exclusions – these explain the exclusions that apply to all Sections.

Excess – you will have to pay the first part of most claims. In most cases this is £50 but a level
of £1,000 applies to subsidence under the Buildings Section.

Endorsements/clauses – if applicable they will be shown on your policy schedule and may restrict cover
e.g. under the Contents Section unless certain security measures are in force.

Domestic animals – any damage caused by chewing, scratching, tearing or fouling is not covered.
