                               PIERS Enterprise Applications
Trade Agreements
Including Mexico cross-border truck and rail, PIERS has thousands of transshipment records in its
warehouses, and has the technical capability to query by specific chain of commerce or event, and
serve the results faster than any other resource in the world.
Dumping Investigations
PIERS serves the international trade legal community and has had data representation in a
majority of the cases brought before the international trade court. PIERS information is often
used to verify results that may already be known or assumed, as well as to correct inaccuracies in
public domain documents.
Smuggling and Illegal Transshipment
Using a combination of text mining technology and broadest possible base of information,
including transshipment manifests, PIERS can locate and track any unusual event within the chain
of commerce, as well as compare it against historical events.
Drug Interdiction
The accuracy and completeness of PIERS data, including the hazardous cargo information, and
100% coding allows for pinpoint accuracy in tracking precursor chemicals and commodities used
in the manufacture of illicit pharmaceutical products. The Drug Enforcement Administration’s
Diversion Control Unit has relied on PIERS data for many years.
                                                                                                16
