The Borough of Pottstown and the Parks and Recreation
Department are proud to announce the receipt of a 2010
DCNR, Department of Conservation and Natural
Resources grant to complete the construction of Phase II
upgrades of Memorial Park. With the recent award we
plan to construct Ball field # 2, including the installation of Available for
irrigation systems, a backstop, and bleachers, a skate- purchase at

sites and amenities. office
The DCNR grant award has been “matched” by the
Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation. This
coordinated effort will continue to implement the strategic
goals presented in the John Potts Master Site Plan.
In addition, the Manatawny Gateway project is set to go
out to bid in Spring 2011. This project includes the con-
struction of a greenscape designed miniature golf course,
walking paths, park area, and new facilities for the Parks
and Recreation Department. With the continued progress
on the Carousel building, the old Metal Weld property will
be transformed into a welcoming active recreation
entrance to the Borough.
We look forward to a busy but productive new year.
