It is important that the Emergency Cards be in the school office today. State requires a signed Emergency Card each school year. It is important we get your new telephone numbers and email addresses so we can keep in touch. STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS Election of Student Council Officers will be held Friday, September 10th at 1:15 p.m. in the Parish Center. Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 may run for the executive board. All petitions are due on Wednesday, September 8th. Elections for class representatives in grades 4-8 will be held the week of September 13th. PLAYGROUND VOLUNTEERS We are thankful for the playground volunteers. Serving one day a month is a great way to meet your student's friends and share a part of his/her day. The only time you can take advantage of this is when your child is in grade school. We are grateful for Mrs. Nancy Parisi (266-0814) for scheduling our calendar each month. MARKETDAY IS BACK!! Market Day News: Welcome back to Market Day for those of you returning to our program and welcome to those new to our school fundraiser. Our 1st sale of this school year earned St Cecilia School $159.49 towards our target goal of $4000. Not too bad for only 23 customers! We hope to have a more enthusiastic response with our next sale especially with the holiday’s right around the corner. For those of you new to St. Cecilia and/or Market Day, Market Day's mission is raising funds for education. Each month Market Day offers 200 convenient and nutritious products at competitive prices, including poultry, meats, seafood, family meals, appetizers, breakfast items and desserts. A percentage of each family's order is provided back to St. Cecilia School. These funds generated most recently have been used to purchase new computer desks for many of the classrooms. Order sheets are distributed each month or families can order on-line at their convenience at http://www.marketday.com. Our on-line school account number is 8296. We encourage all to consider utilizing the Market Day website in lieu of paper orders as many promos, sales, and clearance items are available only via internet orders! Paper orders are to be returned to the school office by the date posted on the flyer. Be on the lookout for the new Market Day flyer for our next sale coming home next week! Remember, new this year, the 3 customers with the highest sales from September ’10 to June ‘11 will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from Market Day! For the month of September get 70 BONUS BOX TOPS when you purchase ANY 12 products featuring the Box Tops for Education icon in a single transaction with your Giant Eagle Advantage card. The Bonus Box Tops Certificate will print at the register. This offer is valid 9/1/10 - 9/30/10. Be sure to send these in to the school, and include the student's name and grade. This is a great way to add to the class collection for the Pizza Party. Giant Eagle will have Bonus Box Tops opportunities each month, so watch for details. Did you know . . . St. Cecilia Fall Craft Show is a major fundraiser for your children? The money funds various school student activities. Did you know . . . The PTO is empowered to organize and sponsor fund raising activities and all monies gained from such activities shall be used for the betterment of the school? Do you have any suggestions on improvements or additions for the Craft Show so that it can be even more successful? We are having a brief conversation before the PTO meeting on Thursday, September 9th at 6:45pm about the Fall Craft Show, please come and share your ideas.
